Has anyone tried them yet? About to pull the trigger on a set but there's not a lot out there for reviews. One very positive review on Tacoma world...

I've always liked the AT3s, so I just assume it will be as good or better? It is Load range E, but I'm switching to these in a 17" from my stock 20" Sarah wheels.. I don't imagine the ride will be more harsh - anyone have experience with this?

TIA

I have a set of the new Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT's on my wife's expedition. They've been good so far, quiet, and does good on gravel/dirt roads which is all that car will see

Haha well I placed the order. I couldn't find any other options that were the same price or less except for Chinese tires.. So I pulled the trigger. Got 295/70/17s - was planning on 285/70 but they didn't have stock of them so I guess I'll go bigger lol. From lots of reading here and elsewhere it doesn't seem like the 295s will be a fitment issue with new wheels having 0 offset.

I should get them some time around Christmas. I will report back on highway, snow & ice handling first, then in the spring we'll see how they do on the trails.

Cheers!

If it's worth anything I've had great experiences with Goodyear brand tires.

We have the Workhorse ATs on my wife Subaru and will be needing new tires sometime next year. I definitely plan on going with goodyears again. But now that I have my Wrangler, I'm not sure if we're going to stick with AT tires, and I'm running 29s on there as well. It's definitely given our MPGs a hit. From the 32 MPGs we were getting with her Subaru Forester when we're running 27's, the 29 inch ATS are now giving us 24 MPGs. And while that's not detrimental, still better than most Wranglers, we don't do anything crazy with her Subaru anymore. Factoring that I am about to have a back seat in my Wrangler again, and I think we're probably just going to slim down to 27-in touring tires, but I will be sticking with the Goodyear brand because again I've had nothing but good luck with them!

That being said if you want some inexpensive 37-in tires, get you some Sailun Terramax RT's. I'm going to get four tires in February for about $900 bucks!

Well did you get the Cooper Stronghold AT tires mounted? If so, do you have any pictures mounted on the jeep? Thoughts on them?

Put a set of these on my Lexus GX 460 and they are extremely quiet, nice ride and good in the rain.

Hey good timing! I received 4 of 5 today. Picked up at the courier at about 3pm and couldn't wait to install them.. Ended up swapping them behind Walmart 😂 (was waiting to pick up my son at daycare so had 45min to kill anyway).

First of all they look awesome! The 295/70/17 seems like a perfect fit at stock height. No rubbing on the road - we'll find out later on if it rubs with more articulation.

Ride seems a little softer than the stock 20s, and steering seems lighter (although that's more a wheel thing than the tires themselves). In case you're interested, the wheels are Fast HD Detour 17x9 with 0mm offset 5" back space. I always likeed the look of circle 8's, so when I saw aluminum look alikes at such a good price I had to go with this wheel.

The Strongholds are fairly quiet considering the tread spacing. Louder than the stock highway tires of course, but not loud by any means.

I only have about 25km on them so not much else to report at the moment. I will be taking them on some logging roads and trails for closing grouse season tomorrow, so maybe I'll get to see how they do in the snow - and there has been LOTS of rain over the past few days so we might even encounter some mud. I'll be sure to report back on how that goes later.

Here's some pics, just because I'm too excited not to share 😁

Well, it's been a couple weeks now and so far I'm loving the strongholds! They do great in snow - will hold some snow in the tread, but any amount of wheel spin clears them out, which makes me think they will do well in mud also. We've had down to about -18*C here, and the rubber stays nice and pliable. On packed snow and ice, they grip WAY better than the stock Duelers (which doesn't say much lol) but that's what I needed in order to justify replacing the original wheels and tires. I have a little over 1,000Km on them and they are still nice and quiet for what they are (definitely much quieter than KO2s for example). I'll continue updating once I've put these things through various off-road scenarios, but that won't be for a few months so I figured I'd at least report that they do well in the winter.

Did I mention they look awesome!? 🤓

Just had mine installed Monday, and got to see how the snow traction was on the way home from work this morning. Beyond impressed. Eastern KY trail ride scheduled for Saturday unless we have to reschedule due to recent flooding.

Your Jeep and tires look good!! I ordered a set of Strongholds with new wheels from Trailbuilt Offroad. I can't wait to install mine when the truck finally arrives. This will be my first time to order a packaged wheel and tire setup already mounted and balanced with sensors. Fingers crossed my order is correct.
