Smittybuilt Atlas hinge steps, Love the functionality, but that noise!

I've had the Smittybuilt hinge steps on my JLUR for a few weeks now. I love the functionality, being able to easily reach item on my roof racks is awesome. They also look super tough and add a bit of detail to the side of the Jeep. My only complaint so far is the loud-ass whistling noise they make at any speed above 40mph... These things are pretty darn loud, I typically have my stereo loud enough to drown it out, but when I have my toddler with me I can't turn it up loud enough to drown out the noise... Anyone else have the steps and are being driven mad by the whistling?!? :cwl: I'm torn as to whether I'll be able to put up with the noise or have to take them off and search for steps that don't whistle... Does anyone have hinge steps that work well, look good and are quiet on their Jeep? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Not to hijack the post but does anyone make hinge steps that attach to the hinge pin nuts that you unscrew to take off the door?

Don't misunderstand..I think the product here is awesome. I'd just prefer not to have to take off door hinge bolts to get steps on and may want to remove the steps when I take off the rack above the rig.

I just ordered 4 of the Smittybilt Atlas Steps. I couldn't find anyone else with any wind issues. All good reviews.

Yes, I had to use a breaker bar to loosen a couple of the bolts.

A little but if you use a rubber mallet to drive the torx bit in for a better bite they come right off.

I have had them on my JLUR for a couple of months with no noise at all. It has me curious on why though.
