Just had my first chip, 2018 JL w/44k. And caught the rock from another JL. He had already hit me twice and was switching lanes because of all the rocks he was throwing, then BAM!
I like the setup a lot. Mine are 31” wide. They are snug but fit nicely. There isn’t much play on the outside of the mounts, with the cross bar, but enough that I have never had any issues. I have driven at freeway speeds and all was well. The tie downs cinch in really tight so the kayaks don’t...
I was thinking of trying that. Did you gave to grind the corners? Any trouble getting the bolts off? I am having a heck of a time getting them loose. Using a T45. Is that what you guys have used?
They help with loading and unloading from your roof. I can't speak for Yokin but I kayak and these are a huge help when loading my 'yak. That way you aren't trying to balance on your door sill. Much more stability. Oh, and it looks cool.
I already ordered the Smittybilt, same as what you have. My friend has a JKUR with the Kargomaster steps so I didn’t want to copy what he had exactly. The steps have really come in handy so I had to get some though and agree that the Smittybilt have a great look. Guessing as soon an I get them...
Nice!! It looks like you used the bolts that were included with the step. The length wasn’t a problem? I guess that may be a bit obvious as you have them on but wondering. What were the torq specs for the bolts?
