Is it any wonder that Amazon is creating their own delivery service? I guess things could be worse. You could be dealing with USPS.
We'll all have to wait a month or even longer :cwl:
I know for sure most of you all who ordered on here will receive them by the end of the week.

Just returned from picking up my steps from Anthony at Roam Offroad. To address a few of the comments above.

First thing is I think everyone should picture Roam as a start up that put out a great product with much more demand than anticipated. The delay and lack of internal support might cost him a few fans but I think your patience will pay off. Some really cool stuff and the steps look incredible. Glad I waited for 3 months for sure.

Anyway...he is aware of the pressure to get these to everyone yesterday but from what I can tell they come from the manufacturer in WY wrapped but not ready to ship. He is making some in Houston as well but the manufacturer has to squeeze his products in. For this batch it looks like he received them but now has to box them up and ship them out one at a time. It might just be him and one other person from what I can tell and he also mentioned he lost an employee. Not making excuses for him...just stating what I noticed. Regarding UPS he did mention the issue but I didnt go into more about that.

The Roam Steps you will receive will include the LED's but no wiring harness or connections. These are not frame mount steps for those that need or want that as an option. They are on the way though and going through testing and fabrication modifications per Anthony. He showed me front and rear bumpers, lift kit, rear tire carrier and the new frame mount steps he had on his JL. He pointed out the areas where they need to be improved and locked down prior to going to production.

Anyway...your patience will pay off if you can wait. His stuff looks really good, has nice welds and finished well. Just needs more resources to keep up with the demand. Again, its a start up company with essentially Anthony.. a guy that loves jeeps decided to build some cool stuff.

If you live in Houston or close his location is in Spring TX and you can email him and ask him for the exact address to pick up your order if it is in.

OH...I forgot one thing. If you own a sport or Sahara just make sure you are comparing apples to apples. For example mentioned they discovered the Sport mounting points are different than the Rubicon on the front bumper. Make sure you verify and then verify again regardless of the supplier.

thats a good point. I ordered a bumper and had to fab the mounts. I hope the side steps mounts are the same for a sport and rubi

TTEChris might know. I think he mounted them to a sport for his ole lady after he had them on his Rubi. I think she is winning now!

Yea I think you're right, I was just looked at TTEChris's write up. I think his is the white rubi and hers is the red sport. I went round and round with extreme on the bumper. Finally welded a 2" extension on the bumper so I could make it work. Extreme made things right. I think jeep should of told people that there was so much differences with the jeeps (as far as the same looking parts but mounting different)

Side step install is the same on the Sport/Rubi. Only difference is the Rubicon came with bolts for the rails(Where they mount to the tub, the pinch seem bolts were included with the steps.)
I'm not sure if the production variation includes those bolts, but I had plenty of metric bolts laying around to install on my wife's JL Sport.

The steel bumper group on the Rubicon is slightly different than the non, so I had to do some minor modifications to fit a bumper that was designed for the "steel bumper group" on my wife's sport.

I'm boring...I had a pair of regular Mopar running boards/steps ready to go on when I picked up my 2 door yesterday.
I have to admit that I am very impressed on how solid feeling they are when I put my 250lb fatazz on them.
Couldn't be easier to install either. Captive bolts on running board, guide them through the holes in the pinch seam, put a nut on them, then a bolt up from the bottom. 2 mounts/side on 2 door, and I think 3/side on JLU.

Thanks for this!

Tbh I'm looking to purchase either this or the Tubular side steps tomorrow for Lil' Hulk. Dealer is giving me 10% off...so still not sure which I should get. The molded are more affordable and I like the fact that you say they are solid! However, I'm feeling the look of these tubulars . the Dealer actually told me that he likes the look of the molded on Wranglers better...and that the tubulars look better on trucks to him. However, I've been trying to see the tubulars on a full size Wrangler Picture.

Anyone's opinion on this? Tubular vs Molded?

The molded covers the pinch seam and looks more like a step. The tubular is more like the Jeep slider look. Personal preference is tubular since I like the more rugged style, but it is really down to which look you prefer.

As for cost, I could have sworn you should be getting at least 15% off right now. I am pretty sure that is right on the Mopar site.

Ahh okay... he quoted me $385 for the molded and said he would take 10% off of that; and said he would do the same for the tubular. I mean...I'm really conflicted, because I'm looking at pics of both on Wranglers...and the molded look "ashy" to me. It's hard to explain...they don't have that smooth satin finish that the tubulars seem to have. I mean, I plan to offroad with my Wrangler as I've already done that and I just got it...but I live in the city and most of my commuting will be in the city so I want a more "polished look" for my steps. Meh...I mean, it's not the end of the world, but I tend to get picky when i spend $100+ on ANYTHING LOL! Thanks for the feedback! :like:

OK. Installed the Roam steps to get a good look and photo's. Its pretty straight forward but I did need to drill out the holes a little in the pinch seam. Not a Roam problem but a Jeep inconsistency and not all needed to be bored out. To make it easier install the brackets and hand tighten the bolts. I used a rubber mallet to adjust as needed. Once the brackets are installed just set the rails on top. THIS WILL SAVE YOUR BACK and make this a one man or lady job.

For those that want to black out the Roam logo or hide the pinch seam you can just add that piece behind and it will cover. See photo. I tried it both ways and decided to black it out. You could also paint those to really have it stand out which I am kicking around.

Really impressed with how tight they get to the body and hide the seams like the Rubi rails. Solid as well.

Also...if you use these steps barefoot you can kiss your feet goodbye.

FYI...i did not hook up the lights. That is for another day and for TTEChris to handle. :)

Ok...you guys talked me into it. Just placed an order with Roam. Honestly, these DO look the best, aesthetically(!)...they match the angles of the stock fenders really well. I'm planning on just plugging the LED holes with some solid rubber grommets. Is the hole size 23mm?

What kind of lead time am I looking at? A month...?

Hey Jeepers, Since I seem to have too much time on my hands I tend to do a lot of research about a product and see what others are also saying about it
Since my Rubicon came with stock rockrails I really didn’t want to take them off. After looking around I found ACE Engineering and they had a rock guard that also served as a step. I spoke with A.J. at ACE and got the low down on them. I ordered them and within 2 weeks they were here. Very simple and straight forward install. I use them as a step ( I`m 225 lbs ) and they don’t move at all. I like the fact that thes stick out just enough to avoid door dings and other inconsiderate objects. Give them a call or check out their site. A.J. will definitely take care of you
I had a set of Smittybilt rock guards SRC? on my JK along with a stick 3M stick on black pinch seem cover form Sean at Quadratec, looked good and worked great. There were a lot of different paint colors on them from other peoples doors and such. Made me feel a little better about my purchase
