Devil’s advocate— I get erroneous “oil change overdue”, “tire rotation overdue” , pre Tazer “low tire” messages. Could such effect the warranty ? I keep paper records, they saved me once with warranty covering a repair for my 89 Bronco.
Those without proof ?
Seriously? Mine have always been accurate, but I've never been told about something being overdue. Lots and lots of low tire messages though, even with a Tazer. But, of course, I'm dropping it down to 12 to 14 PSI just about every weekend...at least when the weather allows.

fair point.

but consider your suggestion is the same as mine - that a company can at its choice cut things off. why not prevent that possibility if you can?
I like the email reminder that I didn't air the tires back up on the wife's JL before the work week starts. The GPS nav maps work much better than the phone when I'm in remote locations. I enjoy the satellite radio, especially when I'm out where there's no cell service. If they randomly brick my radio I'll buy a new one...then. If the power company refuses service it'll be full solar with battery bank and a back up generator... then. I'm all for mitigation of risk, when the risk is high and/or the mitigation is reasonable. When the risk is mostly made up and mildly inconvenient at best and the mitigation just decreases functionality I'll pass.

Then why don't you do the required research and remove the various communication devices from your rig? You own it.

Some faraday shields are better than others. This brand works well, but even leaving the phones charging wire out allows it to work as an antenna so wrapping will decrease range but not totally eliminate it.

my wife also got me faraday cages for the Fobs, awful considerate of her 😂

No XXX large available 🙄
We still need a custom-fit JL-sized EMP-proof Faraday car cover. Put that sucker on and drive around enjoying the tranquil peace of having no connectivity! 😁

Zoning laws and local ordinances prevent you from doing some things you may want to do. That's entirely relevant to your argument. And completely undermines it.
Add State and Federal restrictions. A huge old tree was pushing an old house off it’s foundation here in Ca. , The homeowner wasn’t allowed to cut it down, mosquito factories on private property can’t be eliminated, a “wetland”, farmers can’t plow fields because of an “endangered” rat, old homes can’t be remodeled, on the “historical register”, businesses included- IE the old US Cold Storage in Sacramento. Just a few off the top of my head.

This wad of it is to wrap my phone with after putting it in the faraday bag, 🤫 I don’t do it

Reminded me — anyone know what the threaded inserts on the new jack base are for ?

The messages are from Car Fax, but they have to get their info from the system 🤷🏼‍♂️

right. so since we are equating cars with land tell me would you allow a stranger to randomly tell you what to do with your land after your bought and paid for it? you are correct though - i cannot drive my jeep onto the other lane and expect to get away with it. but what I do with my jeep, who knows about it etc is what ownership is all about. ownership means its no ones business but my own what I do.

while you are saying I cannot speed down the road my problem is more along the lines of "it knows where I am, how fast I drive (thanks insurance companies!) and what im doing with it". what business is it of theirs now that I own it?

You were the one to bring up land.

I'm sorry but your argument falls flat.

Indeed. Someone else brought it up and I responded to it. neither you nor I brought it up.

My argument still stands but I realize it will, as you say, fall flat in the face of mockery instead of actual observation.

If this forum is any indication, may I say I dont understand why this is such a hard concept to be concerned about. Are we in a state now where society is ok with being big brothered so casually?

Might I recommend a bicycle, the chain-driven pedal kind. Government can't turn that off! lol
