I removed my Sahara's rear bumper and put on an aftermarket. I removed a lot of trim pieces to make it happen but it seems to leave a big area of the body behind the rear tire exposed. There are several pieces of metal sandwiched together with gaps in between them and I can just imagine how much sand, dirt and saltwater gets in there. It is right behind the tire tread. I guess mud flaps would protect it, but I hate mud flaps. Does anyone have a solution?

I would have suggested a full wrap around bumper that goes under the fender flares. For rust preventative, I would hose it down with fluid film.

Don’t immediately ditch the mud flaps option. I am a historical mud flap hater, but I love the Rok Blokz mud flaps on our JLs.

1) They come in a couple sizes
2) They can be removed in seconds for serious wheeling
3) They keep the jeep clean even with wide tires
4) They keep the paint from getting chipped and scratched from flying rocks and debris
5) They are pretty damn cool looking on our JLs - much better in person than in pictures

They are a quality product and do a nice job protecting the sides of the jeep.

Good luck and Keep Jeep’n!!!

Fluid Film would probably work.

Holy crap! Pricey buggers! They have a hole cut in them for the spot I want to cover. Maybe I'm obsessing on something that doesn't matter.

Based on your Facebook post, I thought you already solved this?

Haha! That's crazy! Mine is Granite Crystal Metallic and different tires. What was his solution?

I agree with above, the rockblokz are fantastic have them both on our 2023 rubicons stops all that dirt in that area
I did go with a rock hard 4x4 bumper that wraps well, as I’m not wild about that exposed bodywork
They are quick release as well
