Unmarrying Tazer question...

Have to take our 392 into the shop next week for locker issues. I am going to unmarry the tazer and reconnect the bypass harness. Question I have is, when I re-marry the tazer back to the 392 after I get it home from the shop, will I have to redo all my settings? Gear ratio, tire size, and other little random things that are currently set? Thanks for any info!

Are you sure? I don't have tire/gear options set, but I definitely have to redo every last setting on the thing every time I do a full unmarry.

I am pretty certain that mine did. I have only unmarried it once

I've unmarried mine a couple of times. If it is not a live setting like gears and tires it stays on the Jeep computer when not married.

The live settings came back without resetting then when I plugged back in

I unmarried mine for NY inspection and nothing was saved. Same with her's. I ended up setting the tire size and PSI threshold with Jscan. Only thing that I am using the Tazer for now is ESS and the boost guage. I confirmed with Z Auto that neither of these require an unmarry and I can just pull the tazer and reconnect the SGW for inspection.

Sounds like it's hit and miss depending on the setting?!
Only things I have set on the 392 are gears, tire size, and rear camera when turn signal is on. Nothing that can't be re-programmed, I just do not really like the user friendliness of the tazer, and it was on the jeep when we bought it.
Would it be safe to just unplug the tazer and re-connect bypass wires to oem module then, and not even worry about unmarrying?

The jeep is going in bc rear locker light is blinking at all times, and locker lights on dash are on. Sometimes, in 1st gear, and R, when pulling in and out of parking spots on pavement, front lockers are "engaged", if you will, and grabbing as if you were in 4x4. I've read the AWD is controlled by an electrical motor that acts as a clutch on high traction surfaces.

No.

UNMARRY!!!!

If you leave the Tazer connected and your dealership performs any updates/flashes the vehicle, they will be overwritten when you unmarry the Tazer. You will lose anything the dealer does.

You will need to redo settings after you marry the Tazer again.

I unmarried and removed my Tazer last week before taking it in for service. With that said and done I lost my radio screen; black, nothing. Reinstalled and married the Tazer and everything came back. Did a marry/unmarry install/remove a couple of times. With the Tazer out, no radio, Tazer in, everything OK. I did full reboots and sleep cycles to no avail. Finally I said screw it, put the Tazer back in and took the Jeep in for service (front two shocks leaking, 18,000 miles, 26 months in service so under warranty). I’ve had the Tazer out befor with no effects on the radio. Not sure why.

Yes. Taken mine out several times fir dealer issues. No problems.

Did you plug the security gateway cable back in after unplugging your Tazer?

Thats funny you say that. We had a JLUR that I traded in last year for a JTR, and on my way to trade it in, I took it all back to stock (had superchip tuner for it), and experienced the same issue. Only diff is, prior to deciding to trade in, I discovered the stereo shop that had done stereo upgrade, had removed the gateway by pass to make room for 6" knee speaker pod. I just ordered another one from Jeep to use.
When I took everything back to stock and installed the new gateway bypass I had to purchase, same problem, radio, and many other things did not work. Had to put the Superchip bypass module back in for everything to work properly, and I just left the gateway module in the console.
