For giggles, have them load test your batteries and show you the printout/results.
Better giggles is hooking up the cables to someone's testicles and see if they can take the load :)

I spoke with the dealership service (agent) and she said they're waiting on the ABS solenoid, again I think they're guessing. The multiple issues has me thinking its somewhere in the wiring, but this is a fairly new jeep w/only 8000 miles on it, wires don't just give out, and I'm concerned w/out 4WD and ABS braking am I taking a chance on driving the damn thing while I wait for parts?
I was not keen to keep driving it with no ABS, particularly, and my stock KO2 in NY winter. Btw the cold and the wet I would skid into every single stop and at most starts.

It is your decision and up to you only (although you might want to confirm your insurance covers you, now that I think of it). I just didn’t see the point of driving a 2wd Jeep in the winter with no ABS and no Traction Control.

oh, and mine had ~900mi on it when it all started.

When I first got my new Gladiator it displayed a “service 4WD” message.
Long story short, they eventually found an electrical connector that wasn’t seated properly. After ordering various unneeded parts of course….

this sounds a lot better than my story - @shrek4W I hope it’s this simple!

So a shot in the dark but I had the same issue but it was intermittent. I ended up replacing the green star connector behind the glove box and have had no issues since.

Curious did you get bigger tires on your jeep and not have it reprogrammed ?

That didn’t answer my question tho …. I simply asked a question because I’m trying to see something ….
Understood, but what you’ve asked is not relevant to this thread.

Hello @JeepCares have my JLU 2021 with 41k miles having the same problem.

It turned on all lights and my jeep was locked in park mode. After reading a lot testing batteries and fuses, replaced the can bus (behind glove box) 3 months ago, and it seemed to work but the traction control was turning on when hitting small potholes..

A couple of weeks ago all lights came back again and replaced the 2 can buses but problem didn't go away.. moved some connectors on the hood and it went away but came back again...

Dropped the jeep at the dealer, after 1 week they said that it was fixed.. I was charged the diagnostic and repair.. and then a couple of days after same problem..

They had my car 4 more days and now they want to to do an overlay to see if it works.. that would cost close to 700$ this is outrageous.. already spent several hours and approximately 500$ and they want me to pour 700$ more to see if it works?

Already had electrical problems when it was under warranty power steering failing at high speed and others..

@JeepCares my is barely 3 years old, no off-roading, all maintenance up to date..
My brother wanted to get a wrangler, well not anymore.. Need help otherwise telling people to run away from jeep..

Just wait until it locks itself in park and won't come out. Carry a 10 and 13 socket in the car. You must separate the 2 ground cables with the 13mm nut and remove the main cable from the negative post don't mess with the positive cable at all. let it set for a few minutes and most of the time it will clear enough to get it home. Mine has a new shifter, batteries, and PCM/ECM now it wants a new ABS module. Remember the old Christmas tree lights? One bulb goes out and they all fail welcome to the new computer-controlled auto world. They can shove those computer-controlled self-driving trucks up.
Where are the ground cables located?

I swapped my battery last weekend and obviously had the 12v battery removed. I also have the eTorque version and not that golf cart battery. I was surprised to see that my radio presets weren't reset and it seemed to keep everything as is. And I took my time doing the swap; probably had it disconnected for a half hour.

If I did get into that situation, I have a feeling that disconnecting the battery wouldn't do much....since it didn't reset the presets or configuration.

To clear the codes the two ground cables that go to the large battery must be separated from each other. The small cable must not be touching the large one or any metal parts under the hood or the small battery will still be grounded, the car can still be started and all systems will be live.
