So I’m just cruising down the highway in my 2023 JLU Rubicon diesel, when I get warnings from ABS, traction control, and service 4wd lights.

I wasn’t even in 4wd at the time!

7500 on the clock.

Anyone else have this happen?

We were driving a rural road a few weeks ago and hit a pothole about 1/2 the size of the Grand Canyon with the right-side tires. The ABS light, the ESC light, and the Service 4WD light all came on. From what I've read it means a wheel sensor took the hit. We've got an appointment with our dealer to have it worked on next month.

First check all fuses and relays under the hood. Open the fuse box cover and press down on every fuse and relay to make sure they are properly seated.

Second, unfortunately, it sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor. Head back to the dealer and have them check it out.

@Rusty Shovel I'm not saying this is your issue, but I had a waterlogged sway-bar disconnect motor cause very similar symptoms (on a JK)

Additionally, I've had ABS warnings after wheeling which turned out to be mud/debris in the wheel sensors.

A wheel speed sensor failing or becoming disconnected (even momentarily) will do all the above. I had the exact same thing on a washboard gravel road. After stopping for lunch everything went back to normal. Took it to the dealer. They swapped my L/R wheel speed sensors and sent me on my way with one of 3 possible outcomes:

1) Issue happens again but switches sides (= bad wheel speed sensor)
2) Issue happens again but on same side (= bad wiring to the wheel speed sensor)
3) Issue doesn't happen again (= loose wire coupling to the wheel speed sensor)

Turns out my issue was #3. It didn't happen again after the swap.

Thanks everyone!

I went to the dealer, but the warning lights had since gone out and the Jeep hadn’t retained any codes…so they sent me away with instructions to come in sooner next time it throws an error.

Is your steering wheel straight aligned with your wheels? If not it could potentially be that. After installing my lift and before adjusting the drag link my dashboard looked like Christmas with all the lights. First thought was what on earth did I break during the install, I was so careful…Thankfully with a quick search on this site I found a number of comments pointing me to the drag link. This forum is awesome.

Just wait until it locks itself in park and won't come out. Carry a 10 and 13 socket in the car. You must separate the 2 ground cables with the 13mm nut and remove the main cable from the negative post don't mess with the positive cable at all. let it set for a few minutes and most of the time it will clear enough to get it home. Mine has a new shifter, batteries, and PCM/ECM now it wants a new ABS module. Remember the old Christmas tree lights? One bulb goes out and they all fail welcome to the new computer-controlled auto world. They can shove those computer-controlled self-driving trucks up.

Ok, so this happened to me too! Took it to the dealership, they attempted to install a new wheel sensor and still all the idiot lights are on... now they're planning to install a new ABS unit, that's on back order. I think they're guessing and playing the OEM jenga game, where they pull the cheapest solution first, then the next, and the next... this is stupid. So what's the real reason behind all the idiot lights coming on (btw, cruise control is disabled so is 4WD). Is there any true explanation for ABS and Traction Control to both go at the same time?

Possible bad wheel speed sensor.

SO the ongoing saga of all the idiot lights continues.... Jeep dealership attempted to replace the wheel sensor to solve this problem and still the error code continued, now they're ordering in a new ABS unit (not sure what that meant, if it were just the ABS sensor or something else) at this point I think they're plucking feathers to see which one clucks the most.

System is reporting errors with ABS and Traction Control, 4WD not available, on top of that Cruise Control won't engage, and the auto-shut off (while waiting at a stop light) no longer functions as well. Is this possibly a computer gone bad? Thoughts? I'm getting tired of the dealership game, thinking of calling up and complaining to Jeep, asking them to take the damn thing back as a lemon.

Just me bitch'in after 2 months of nothing.

Is the ABS unit they’re replacing the brake booster by any chance? I had the same symptoms, same diagnosis and treatments (wheel speed sensors, then brake booster replacement) on my ‘23 JLUR 4xe and… I unfortunately had to lemon it with very few miles on it, and after it sitting at the dealer for >4months.

if anyone knows for sure what the issue is (waiting for the brake booster and then replacing it didn’t work either), they can buy my old one that’s been sitting at the poor dealer that got from an auction month ago:

I spoke with the dealership service (agent) and she said they're waiting on the ABS solenoid, again I think they're guessing. The multiple issues has me thinking its somewhere in the wiring, but this is a fairly new jeep w/only 8000 miles on it, wires don't just give out, and I'm concerned w/out 4WD and ABS braking am I taking a chance on driving the damn thing while I wait for parts?
