Do you live in Colorado?
Yes.

Castle Rock is 20 mins from south Denver. I drive it twice a week. The dealers in Denver are run by Larry H and Autonation. Neither of them have good or reputable service departments. They are also one month minimum out for anything that is not an oil change. I have a buddy who works at the autonation in Englewood.

Faricy has one of the best service departments I have ever been to and their service manager is a great guy which is why I suggested them. They also are taking appointments as soon as this week.

I just put a warranty request in myself.

But way to contribute to the post pal
Cool story, but that Jeep in its current state shouldn't go anywhere near I-25.

Why are you telling me? I already know this and said this. But since he is already driving it, then that would be his decision to make. He can also tow it to either dealership I mentioned. Which has been stated as the preferable option multiple times and was implied.

And since you apparently live in Colorado , then you know that he would have to get on 25 regardless to get to a dealership. With the exception of maybe 1.

I have lived in Colorado 25 years. I lived in Denver for 8 of them. I might know a thing or two.

Because you're under the mistaken impression only dealerships should be trusted with this repair when Jeep can barely handle an oil change.

I don't apparently live here. I've been here twice as long and remember the days when Perkins would freak the fuck out if you so much as drove a Rubicon through a plume of dust, Faricy required three service appointments to fix the simplest things on a TJ, and Lithia would kinda just wing it and use a dartboard to decide what was wrong with a Wrangler.

I didn’t mention Perkins. And the reason why I suggested Jeep dealerships for engine work is because the smaller shops will refer people with engine work to the Jeep dealerships anyways. Can you tell me one shop in the Colorado area that would be capable and knowledgable to work on engine repair? From your vast experience?

Predator is the only one I can think of and maybe Parker Four Wheel Drive. They don’t have the time or want to mess with an engine repair. And Jerry over at Predator charges $220 for just the diagnostic and $200 an hour. He is also a month out by the way.

I was encouraging someone to take it to the dealer because they have the equipment and expertise to deal with it. And they can give a guaranteed and viable diagnosis and if they do make a mistake, they won’t charge him again unlike smaller shops.

That is valve train noise. The more that you drive it, the more damage and cost will occur!

I get your point here for sure. I was going to a dealer regardless due to the work guarantee. You are correct I would not enjoy getting charged multiple times.
