How long did it take for you all to get through the build process? I've been in paint (F) status for 4 days and Jeep Chat is telling me it could take upwards of two weeks to get through paint. This seems insane and untrue to me.

I am now enjoying our Sport after having it for a couple of weeks. In fact I have not been looking at the forum for a while because I'm driving it every chance I get. I love having the top down or completely removed. Here in Southern Ontario we are having a heat wave they are saying the worst in years 35 deg C and humidity makes it feel 45 deg C. I feel like a pussy as I had to close it up and turn on AC today. I love this vehicle with one exception being fuel mileage. I find I'm getting about 13 L per 100 km average. I do realize " its a Jeep " . My wife's previous car was a Jetta 1.8 Turbo ( 6 L per 100 km ) and I drive a Ram EcoDiesel ( 10 L per 100 km )
That answers my question about anyone up here in Canada seeing any 2 doors yet. Good for you! So exciting!!!

Thanks. i don't think those are available in Canada. I can't get locking lug nuts yet either. I hope my spare doesn't go missing!
The red logo drain plug floor mats? Ordered mine with my build here in Guelph.

So far so good with our new mirrors! Compared to another pair we had with our last Jeep, these are much better! I ordered my new tire cover too! I compromised...the gecko was approved by my husband and 3 sons. I had a heart and a flower picked out...that didn’t fly! Lol! :cwl:

Couple questions for those in the know - first, my dealer is not the greatest with updates, but I have lots of time to wait so not going to raise a stink. I have a VON but no VIN. Is it possible to see if VIN has been created without waiting for my dealer?

Second, I really want the red dash panels to go with my Mojito Rubi. Anyone swapped these yet? I’m thinking factory parts order would be better than trying to match with paint?

So how much longer should i expect
Really hard to say. I think if everything went perfectly 2 weeks, but as often seen here it rarely goes perfectly.

Glad you can get them. BUT everyone should look at your build sheet.
Jeep was to provide a locking lug nut on the spare. Hundreds of locking
lug nuts that Jeep has that they didn't provide is money in their pockets !!!
Call you dealer get one put on or mailed to you. (this may be Rubicons only)
Thanks, I'll check into that. I was thinking maybe I should just take the spare off until I get a locking nut for it!

So Friday was pickup day for me, and it was 300 miles to get back home.

These are my initial impressions from someone that has never owned a Jeep before:

The good:
1. It looks really great. Awesome.
2. Wind Noise (hard-top) is not as bad as I feared. Its definitely there, but not a big deal.
3. Insides look great and is comfy
4. Features like upgraded audio is really good, and blind spot detection also works great.
5. Driving around town and on slower roads is really great. Turns are nimble and the vehicle just feels solid, in a good way.

The bad:
1. The drive on the highway is nerve-wrecking. It kinda feels like wrestling an anaconda to keep the Jeep driving straight. There were a couple of times I thought o sh1t im going to lose control. Literally cant go above 70 to pass someone, its just too dangerous. Ive been following the thread on the steering, so I lowered the pressure out my tires a bit, and it did seem to help. Either that or I got used to handling her. I say better, definitely not good. Ill leave it as is for a couple 100 miles, and if I still feel like theres something weird ill take it to a dealer.

If it wasnt for the driving on the highway thing I would say this was a slam-dunk purchase, but im a little concerned with it. I dont think my wife will drive it as is, it was really scary at times.

I was really hoping they had fixed the steering issues by now, six months into builds.

Apparently some members have had good luck with the steering “breaking in” and getting better after a couple thousand miles. If you wanna wait for that.

It all depends on the shipping. Mine was a week to the dealer in NY by truck. Check with your dealer, he should have a good idea based on past shipments.

Yeah ill think ill give it some time, it already felt a bit better today on the second leg of the journey. Im not sure if it was because I got used to how to handle her or because of the tire pressure or maybe something starting to break in. But I can tell you that first section of highway I hit was real dodgy. I just kept it cool to not alarm the wife but i was thinking wtf all the way to our first overnight stop. There was one point where the guy in front of me was driving just slightly slower than me so I wanted to pass by going a bit above 70. The Jeep started to like snake i thought this is the end good-buy world.
