JL Unlimited Sport with tinted windows and the smoker's package. I bought it off the lot and that's how it came. Gave the cupholder ashtray to some friends that smoke. Added NFab matte black bars with steps, JTOPS black shade, all weather OEM floor mats that I got from Amazon for about $20 cheaper than getting through the dealership and a set of door sill guards. Loving the soft top but wishing it wasn't this hot down on the MS Gulf Coast.

Look on craigslist and facebook marketplace too, JK wheel work just fine and you should be able to find a nearly new set of wheels with tires for 800-1400. The JK rubi tires are 255 though, not 285.
I've been looking around. I still probably have 4-6 weeks to wait on my Jeep. The tires is the one upgrade I'm sure I want to do. Shame it isn't offered as an option.

I love the Rubicon, but the truth is that 4:1 t-case ratio would be horrible unless you were crawling rocks out in the mountains and I don't need it. And the BLD system does everything I need so lockers aren't really required either. So, I decided to save the $7,000 and get the Sport with S package and make it my own.

I now have a total of $2,000 spent on mods and I'm taller than a stock Rubicon, with a better stance, I can tow my utility trailer, I have all the amenities I wanted, and I can still get 19 MPGs combined which is a little better than Rubicon owners are reporting.

So far all I've been able to do with my Jeep is some light overlanding and simple flat trails. One day I'll be able to get her on something that needs 4Lo but I'm really happy with it so far. BTW, still haven't taken it to the mall...

Love my JLUS, 27th jeep since 1965! I've seen more Rubi's in the mall than Sahara's and my Stock Sahara carries on off road with the best of them! Maybe not big rock piles for which the Rubi proves it's worth... well maybe 10% of the Rubicon's sold!

Honestly my JLUR is a commuter mostly, maybe 1o/15% of mileage at most mild to tough off road. With limited slip which works of course in Hi 4WD it does really well, never left behind.

"It's a Jeep" they are all fun! Will admit lots more "Mall Crawlers" than the old days and unfortunately less waves??? Speaking of old days, check out my side bar. 1965 CJ5 "Tuxedo Park" 6 months old in that photo, hardly any mall's then!!!!!!

Have fun all your way, that's what they are for!

Go Jeep!!!

Still LOVE my JLUS (bought end of January)- I really want to get the Barricade Adventure HD front bumper... Trying to figure out if I can install it myself (with help from my husband hopefully!) and save the install money! It's addicting to modify and I love the mods I already made but dammit it would look even better with a new bumper! LOL! Plus I am not doing any crazy off-roading like most on here. Just some trails, the occasional stream or whatever. Like someone else said, just love taking of the roof and doors and driving around the town or on trails and I just SMILE! SO FUN to own and drive!

2004 Honda Accord coupe, V6 6-speed manual; ordered 2018 JL Sport 6MT with A/C and anti-spin. D status.
I'll be sure to post pictures in this thread once my ordered 2 door ocean blue Sport arrives.

Ballin' on a budget is a fun club. I'd rather ding a $30,000 vehicle than a $50,000 vehicle on the trail!

Several of you posted beautiful Sports and Sport S's above.

bumper: Gen Right
winch: Superwinch EXP 8iS
"fog" lights: Baja Designs squadron sports
DRL/blinker: Diode Dynamic's "switch back" with resistors
closed winch "hook": Factor 55

I really wanted the Superwinch because 1) its looks so cool, 2) made in the USA, and 3) features

Sport S. w/LSD. All weather mats, headliner, tint. Added Rubicon suspension, wheels and tires. Drives like a Jeep now. Really want some painted high fenders.

I feel like I am the only one who kinda like the stock Sahara wheels.

I agree with you that stock sahara wheels are really nice, I have them and initially planned on getting tires for them but the tires that look nice (BFG TAs) are expensive in 18" and now I am also thinking of going the rubi takeoff route.
