Keep in mind that if you mess something up, you are responsible and won't be covered.

You have a brand new 2024 vehicle with a warranty. Take advantage of that and get this checked and fixed at the dealer.
I will likely take this route, but ALL of the dealers around me have 1 star reviews with horror stories about service. The one dealer that has average reviews won't work on it because I didn't buy it there. And let's face it, they're not going to assign their top tech to do this level of warranty work. I just don't want it to blow up into a situation that's worse than what I have now.

It must have failed the leak test at the factory and this was their fix! They could have done a better job of finishing the repair! Hopefully you can clean it up yourself and not have to take it back, or replace it. If it's not leaking now, I'd be afraid any repair the Dealership did, or if I replaced it myself, might cause it to leak again.
I drove for 10 hours in pouring rain and wind bringing it home from MD to MA. I did notice a few remnants of dried rain along the inside near the back. It's plausible it came in at that spot.

Do they really do a leak test?

When I was tracking mine and was watching the various stages, I remember seeing where they claim every wrangler goes through a leak test and water fording test. Now, exactly what that entails, I have no idea. Maybe an automatic care wash and a parking lot full of puddles!

They drive it through the expensive spray machine they paid for, that I'm certain of. Do the workers bother to interrupt their toke break to check the results? That's the question :)

Just picked up my first Jeep - a 2024 Willys V6 6MT w/ SOT. Love it!

Picked it up on Saturday in a downpour so wasn't able to see this upon first inspection. The weather stripping at the top of the C Pillar has excess sealant oozing out. Both sides are the same. Is this normal? I'm surprised Jeep let this leave the factory like this?

Not Normal. Under warranty let them fix it

Technically yes. Drove 10 hrs in high winds and rain (never let up the entire time) bringing it home from the dealership. Found few small water spots on the side plastic near the back door.

Normal for Jeep, yes.

The build quality for Jeep is nowhere near Toyota, that being said I love my Jeep. It looks good even caked in tree pollen right now.

Toyota sucks as much as the rest of them. Can do this all day:

Feb. 1 recall: RAV4 Prime
Toyota recalled certain 2021 RAV4 Prime Plug-In Hybrid vehicles due to the risk of the hybrid system shutting down and stalling while driving in EV Mode in cold weather conditions if the accelerator is rapidly pressed.

Potential number of units affected: 16,679

March 2 recall: 2022-2023 Tundra
On March 2, Toyota issued a recall for some 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles that have a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover. NHTSA said the cover may detach if the tonneau cover attachment joints become loose.

Potential number of units affected: 130,266

May 29 recall: 2022-2023 Corolla Cross
Toyota recalled 2022-2023 Corolla Cross vehicles due to a manufacturing defect in the instrument panel. Improper deployment of the front-passenger airbag violates safety regulations.

Potential number of units affected: 96,007

June 14 recall: 2023 Camry
Toyota issued a recall on June 14 for certain models of the 2023 Camry and Camry Hybrid. The lug nuts that connect the wheels to the vehicle may not have been tightened properly, which can result in the wheels detaching.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 91,442

July 12 recall: several vehicles
Toyota has recalled several 2023 models, including Corolla, Corolla Cross, Corolla Cross Hybrid, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, and Tacoma, as well as 2023 Lexus RX350, RX350 Hybrid, RX500 Hybrid, and 2023-2024 Lexus NX250, NX350, and NX350 Hybrid vehicles due to an issue with the electrical connection inside the steering column's spiral cable assembly. NHTSA said this may have caused the driver's airbag to deactivate.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 152,927

Didnt Toyota also Just recall 338,000 trucks for faulty breaks?

GOTTA LOVE THAT TOYOTA BULD QUALITY! LOL

This. We've had three Toyotas and two were trash. My Sequoia was in and out of the shop repeatedly for different issues. It went through two different radios, had interior rattles that I couldn't track down, knocked like crazy under acceleration, wouldn't crank if the outside temp was 30 or below, etc. It was by far the biggest POS I've ever owned and I change vehicles like most people change underwear. Dad's Avalon decided that it was tired of living and puked all of it's oil on the highway. There was a recall that the dealership missed, so they replaced the engine for him. The new one sounded like a diesel and the dealership said "that's normal." The second engine wound up grenading a couple of weeks later, so he dumped the car and bought a Lincoln, which he's still driving with over 220K miles.

My most trouble free vehicle was my 2016 JKU. I had absolutely ZERO problems for the 5 years and 100K that I owned it. I still regret selling it to this day.

Every manufacturer has recalls. Toyota, Jeep, and all the rest.

It's the fact that Jeep would let a brand new $54K vehicle leave their factory with rtv sealant sloppily applied that's troubling. If they don't care about that, what else am I going to find that's not readily visible to the eye?

It shows the worker who applied the RTV to my Jeep doesn't care and there's no QC check before it leaves the factory. I could be wrong, but I don't hear about this happening at Toyota?

Back on topic, I did reach out to my local Jeep dealer and they said they can't look at it for 3 weeks. I asked if I could stop by so they could determine if they need to order seals and they said nope can't look at it for 3 weeks. Ugh.

Thanks for everyone's help. At the end of the day, it's not a big deal - I plan to get it fixed and enjoy the heck out of this thing.

I have (had) a small amount visible on my SOT panels, not quite as bad as yours though. It's butyl, not RTV, and someone at the factory was just a little lazy with the application. You can just smoosh it down and maybe roll a small amount off the top with your fingers so the weatherstripping fits a little tighter against the panel. A paper towel with then take off the residue a little rubbing, can use a drop of Dawn soap on the paper towel if really needed. I just did my driver's side panel, here are before and after pics, it took about two minutes.

Interesting - so you were able to just smoosh it down and clear off the excess with a paper towel? Mine seems like hard rubber. But, I'm going to try that tomorrow.

You were given very solid advice here. I would heed it:

At the least, go to a dealership Service Department and have the problem / concern documented..

When you bring the JL into the dealership, politely tell the Service Writer you'd like to speak to the Service Manager. Again, ask to speak directly with the Service Manager.

Tell the Service Manager you have heard good things about his/her Service Dept., yada yada... YES, swooze him/her a bit...

Then........ Politely mention your concerns to the Service Manager..

It's all about communication! Be courteous and upfront/to the point..

Hint: Take a bunch of close up pics of the problem areas before anyone fools with the vehicle in regard to the problem areas..

Consider asking to speak to the Service Manager and not just deal with the Service Writer.

Mention your concerns to the Service Manager.. It's all about communication!
First dealer said can't look at it for 3 weeks. Second dealer said I would need to meet with the Service Mgr and he would take photos and submit to FCA for warranty review. So I drove over there only to be told the Service Mgr wasn't in today. I'll try again next week.

The problem areas aren't going anywhere so to speak. Handle this hiccup properly or there is a very good chance if you don't, you will be kicking yourself in the ass when the result is poor.
