I did a search on this issue but didn't find it. I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a 3.6. with 122,000 kms. all three driver side cylinder compression are at 120 and passenger side are at 180.

I would appreciate if anyone could direct me to post that refer to this, or have any inclination how to fix this or put this motor on fire.

Thanks everyone :)

Do a leak down test to see if its rings or valves.

how did you find this out? Was it not running right?

Plus…how does it drive and idle?

It was running rough, like a sparkplug wasnt firing. I brought it in and they found the compression at 120 on driver side cylinders

That’s a bummer. What was the recommended repair?

Oh they wanted to continue doing some more digging on what the cause was. and I know where that goes.. a money grab from the shop so I told them to wrap it up.. $800 CAD later. 't imagine how much more they would have charged me on this goose chase.. “explicit word” dealers

So you don’t want to pay to diagnose it, what’s the point of doing anything else? You clearly don’t want to pay to fix it either.

If the whole bank has low compression you should probably have an issue with either the VVT or VVL systems on that bank but those are pretty good about setting specific fault codes. You need to remove the valve cover to inspect.

Or just put a new engine in it, but there aren’t any available

I’ve been around enough fixing cars that I know where a goose chase starts happening. tell me that you cant find a problem in three hours, your a shit mechanic! so there a difference between paying for diag and knowing other ways of finding out what the real issue is. so your initial comments are pretty “ “ arrogant. i did pay for diag but not paying for a goose chase and money grab

And here you are with no diagnosis. You refused to pay for tear down. That’s just the facts.

You'll need to pull the valve cover and maybe the head depending on what you find. LKQonline usually has some good used engines last time I checked.

Does low compression generally require a replacement motor?

It will require head work and/or bottom end work. If it was one cylinder maybe an easy fix, but all 3 is a red flag to me.
