Ok this is my first Jeep Wrangler and I will be ordering a JLU Rubicon in the near future. I know that I definitely want to throw on some 35's, my only dilemma is should I get the 2.0 Turbo or should I get the 3.6 Pentastar? Which engine will be better with larger wheels?

Nobody really knows yet which one will be ā€˜betterā€™ but we know they should both be fine with 35s. Heck, the early JKā€™s 3.8 would move 35s.

On the street, you want more low end torque, so the 2.0L. Off-road, not sure as the torque isnā€™t so critical with the 4L gearing. The 3.8L is lighter by 100lbs, if that might be a consideration. Of course the cost difference is $1K with an automatic and $3K with a manual transmission. All this said, thereā€™s no wrong answer, only a marginally better answer.

I'm stuck with the same decision. I keep going back and forth. I think it's going to come down to what the fuel efficiency is for the turbo. The HP and torque are pretty similar that the little difference isn't enough to sway me one way or the other. But playing with numbers, if the V6 average is 19 mpg and the turbo is 26 (guessing), the extra cost would be saved in gas in the first 2.5 years for me.
