I like the aggressive sound and slight powerboost of an aftermarket exhaust, but I'm not a fan of the "sporty" dual exhaust system that seems to be popular right now.

I want a nice subdued and tucked away single pipe exhaust, and I'll leave the dual exhaust system for my Corvette.

Right now I'm kinda in between the Magnaflow and the aFe:

I'm currently leaning towards the aFe right now because it's cheaper and has a nice black exhaust tip option, but I'm not familiar with any of these exhaust companies. How are their quality and sound?

I just received and installed the Magnaflow rock crawler cat back and wow is it loud. Definitely very aggressive. It's louder than my WRX with its aftermarket 4" muffler.

Is it normal for there to be a slight paint burning smell after installing it? Guessing it's hugging up close to the frame and might be burning a bit of the coating.

New exhaust will have a smell to it, but should ware off after a couple of heat and cooling cycles. Maybe worth a look underneath.

Can you post a video of the exhaust?

Pictures would be great. Have any drone at highway soeeds
I'll take some tomorrow, it seems to be the loudest in between 2.2k-3k RPM, so if you're not a fan of that, then it's not for you. I still don't know how I feel about it. Right now, I like the sound, but it's definitely loud (doesn't help that I have a soft top and sound enters from all over), louder than my WRX for sure, so don't know how I'll feel about it in a few months/years down the road once the appeal of sounding cool wears off a bit.

I'm keeping my OEM exhaust just in case.

There you go, figured it out. It's actually pretty loud, video doesn't do it justice since you have no other sound to compare it to.

How does it clear the wiring for the trailer plug? I've heard the pypes is very close and has burnt of the wiring on some.

It's a solid 7" away from the connection port. Should be fine.

I installed the Magnaflow rock crawler cat back on Saturday and I 100% agree with Ruby Jack. The exhaust is quite loud between the RPM range of 2200-3000. I have the 8 spd auto and set the cruise to 70 while driving to work. At that speed there is no drone, just a pleasant little rumble. I can't definitely tell when the trans down shifts when climbing a hill, there is a definite drone that is short lived until the trans up shifts again. This isn't a deal breaker for me but I do have the stock exhaust stored in the garage just in case the novelty wears off.

Thanks for the info. It sounds great. I was kinda worried they may sound like a fart can on a Honda. It sounds like I may have found a new wast of some money:clap:
