I'm about to do a small 1.5" lift with the Teraflex 1.50-Inch Sport S/T1 Suspension Lift Kit. I know I can get 35s to work without rubbing, but how much performance (acceleration, mpg, etc.) will I lose? I have a Sahara but am running stock Rubicon wheels with 33" KO2s. I know the gear ratio is different for the manuals so I think this will actually work better than an automatic?

I don't understand your thread title based on your post. Do you have 5.13, or are you going to install 5.13? You talk about manuals having different gearing, but they don't have 5.13 stock. You have 33" tires, but your title says 35".

Do you mean the 5.13 first gear of the manual?

3.45s and the 6 speed flat out suck on the stock tires. With a 35" you're never going to be able to use 6th and 5th only at 80+ mph or downhill.

Re-gearing is totally worth it.

Thanks JT1, that makes a lot more sense, and in my post I didn't realize that.

Yes, sorry, meant that 1st gear is 5.13. That's what I was afraid of, I almost never use sixth gear even with 33s.

I don't have the cash for a re-gear so I guess I'll stick with 33s!

I’m the same boat and have been running 35s on 3.42 w/ a stick since 2020 or 30k miles. You will loose 6th and 5th will become 70mph+. Totally drivable, but changes the entire experience, go easy on the clutch. Plan a regear asap; as I am still stacking coin to do the same.

I did 34s 285/75R17 with stock 3.45 for a while and it kinda sucked, livable but 6th gear is not usable. 285/70 with 3.45 is probably equally as bad, and 35s would be worse. I found 4.10 with 34s is fine. Not ideal but fine.
