I have a JL Sport S and I didn’t get the rear axle differential so I was wondering if I’d be able to run 35s without Dana 44s. What problems would I encounter if any and would I have to install anything else to accomadate the tires besides a 2.5” lift?

Your main issue is going to be width, you may need wheel spacers due to the slightly narrower axles on the sport and Sahara.

I’m running 35’s on my Sport. Haven’t had it off pavement yet but no problems so far. I’m running Pro Comp Series 34 Rockwell in 17” with 4.75” backspacing

Just put the lift on this weekend. Ran the tire and wheel setup for a couple months. Only issue was a little rubbing on back fender.

They beefed up the 30/35 to near the strength of the old 44.
But I personally wouldn't run 35s on them, partly because I don't want to lift it or regear it, and partly because I can't afford to do it ATM.

I love the 35 look, but I am sticking with 33s on my sport S

Also I don't want to listen to my wife when something breaks

I will put 35s on my 2dr RUBI next year when my wife takes over the sport s :)

The new D30/35 combo is not even close to the strength of the D44 axles under a JK. Housing strength maybe, but in terms of axle shafts, ring & pinion, carrier, etc, no way.

The D35 is not a good axle to be honest, not sure why they resurrected it. I would only throw a set of 35s on if I kept it on the street.
