I have similar problem with my 2023 2door sport with just under 3000 miles. I just got the p0171 and p2096 codes today after driving about an hour around Detroit and home... Immediately made appt for Fri at 730, hopefully it will be a quick resolve... Fingers crossed.

They will get it taken care of my man. I know it's a bad feeling but so far everyone that I have seen have it, is something goofy. It sucks to not have your baby! But man it's sweet when you get her back!

Hopefully not too goofy! Praying for a loaner when I drop it off Fri!

So I had planned to take it to dealer in the morning, but they said loaners are almost 2 weeks out.. Drove it tonight to movie and wheb I left the light was off and no issues.. Perhaps corresponding to how you said it drove better in colder weather? It was 65 when I left the movie... Hmm.. Still gonna take it in, but will be Tues now..

@JeepCares

I was driving to pickup some groceries, while at a stop light vehicle starts a rough idle. Few seconds later Stop/Start unavailable, MIL pops on. Solid yellow engine light.
Park it, check for leaks - hissing, etc etc. Seems okay. (Only 8,000 miles on her). Manage to get it home but in protection mode, low power, sputtering.

Setup for a tow through jeeptow Stellantis Thu Afternoon, confirmed good pickup 8am to 8:30am Fri. Get jeep ready for pickup that evening. "Miyumbi Towing"
Fri morning no response from tow driver at 8:30.am Contact Stellantis, they didnt have an update. 9:30 am comes by they drop me and "reschedule".

I ended up driving it to the dealer at this point, seemed to be running "ok" and by "ok" its still not 100% but its definitely driveable but missed my appt due to the tow cancellation. Stellantis books me a retow about 4 hours later - I cancelled it because i was already at the dealer.

No loaners available at the dealer, Shuttle home. Shuttle doesnt run the weekend, guess its uber eats. Figure it would be a quick fix.
Saturday Update - they don't know whats wrong with it. Flashed some updates, checked fuel and ignition systems and clear code. Same thing that happened to me, drives "ok" then MIL Pops on, terrible performance in low power mode. Foreman going to do more trouble shooting Monday. Had to take PTO, can't commute to work. Don't really have the cash to be buying loaner cars (I mean, i spent $60,000 on a JLUR that comes with loaner cars and towing....)

Anyone have any ideas on P0171 and P2092 for new wranglers? I've done some looking but it seems like there could be a wide variety of issues.
A Little frustrated. Thanks for hearing me out.

Pic for attention.

Oh no! Definitely not. Shell and Exxon 87. Right now its got some octane boost from the dealer (They thought bad gas at first, fuel sample turned out good)

New Update - Did some idling/driving around the neighbor hood for an hour or so. Ran good.
While idling in my driveway at the end slowly but surely rough idle came back, CEL popped, Confirmed code P0171. Two Pending Trouble Codes, P0171 and P0300. 1 Permanent Toruble Code (P0171, assuming that just stays there for a while)

Back to the dealer. hopefully Stellantis will pick me up this time, it's almost undriveable in limp mode.

What was the fix in the end. I'm having the same issue now and dealership is just guessing. They had it 5 weeks, codes came back 6 days later, then 2 more weeks, codes came back on day 15, and its there again. They keep telling me it's something different. Frustrating, also no loaner.

That is a bummer man. Was a slow upstream and downstream 02 sensor. 100% fixed after replacing. I wish they would train their lower end techs in using mode 6. You can identify exactly what is going on with sensors. I use blue driver, amazon for 100 bux.

any clue how to determine which o2 sensor would be faulty?
Yeah you can use a reader like blue driver and watch the 02 sensor readings.

A goos O2 sensor should produce an oscillating waveform at idle that makes voltage transitions from near minimum (0.1 v) to near maximum (0.9v).

Ahhh ok.

Yeah im getting codes:

p0171 Fuel trim too Lean Bank 1
p0133 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response
p0300 Random multiple cylinder misfire
p2096 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1

Sounds like Sensor 1 Bank 1 - which is passenger side at the front side of the cat - you can get to it taking your fender line out.

The sensor acts as an end all to the fuel system - if it detects (or begins to malfunction) unusual patterns, it will change the entire fuel trim for that side and having fuel trims changed will cause all kinds of crazy symptoms and codes which sounds like what your experiencing.

Its like a chain reaction.

P0133 is saying "hey theres a slow sensor"
P0171 is saying "Hey the fuel trim is too lean" Probably because of the sensor adjusting the fuel/air mixture.
P0300 is saying "Hey, I'm misfiring" -> Likely because of the sensor adjusting the fuel/air mixture.
P2096 is saying "Hey, on this end of the cat - the fuel is burning to lean" -> Likely because of the misfiring and lean/fuel mixture.

That makes total sense. Ill change out that 02 Sensor and see if thats it.

thanks for the info!!
