My Jeep has just over 100,000kms all of a sudden my engine light came up. I drove it for a few days until my dad code read the codes for me.
The last day of driving, it was idling a bit rough and felt like it was going to stall and my gas mileage started to drop (about .05L/100kms) so not horrible.

It threw codes:p0300 p2096 p0171

I did tonnes of research, reading hours worth of forums. The chunk of them concluded that it might be the o2 sensors. We fixed 2 the code reader suggested and the check engine light still came on and went back to a rough idle.. We then replaced the other side (number 6 which is known to give problems), however the sensor with the longer harness was not in-stock,and back ordered. My engine light came on after a day, I put the code reader on it, to clear the code and it's been a few days and has not came back on.
I am waiting for the other sensor to replace it. I've read other posts that say that the engine light came back on after o2 sensors were replaced but after clearing the code, it has not come back.

My dad found it easiest to take off the front wheels and go through the fender liner to get to the sensors. You have to have a special tool to pull out the plugs. I have attached a picture of a diagram and Mopar part number, along with super helpful info I found on the forum.

It's very common for the valve covers to leak onto the rear oxygen sensors. Incredibly common, even. It'll throw the same codes as well. Might be worth taking a second look if you didn't check for it. The sensor will be wet on top and a drop will probably be seen directly over it hanging off the back of the cylinder head.
