I have a radio issue w/ my 392 - I finally figured out it started when I updated my iphn from an 11 to 14 PM.
Random/intermittently it loses connection - to reset I just unplug the cord, plug it back in and it works fine (for a while).
Sometimes it’ll go hours w/ no issue, other times it’s a constant issue (always handy when one is in 6 lanes of traffic trying to figure out WHICH lane to be in to reach ones destination and it goes OUT - and SO SAFE to reset while driving)… ??‍♀
The dealer looked at it - did a hard reset of my radio - it’s still happening.
I google it - apparently there is a KNOWN ISSUE w/ the IPhn 14 PM/JEEP/Uconnect
I finally called APPLE - having previously ASSUMED they knew about it and was awaiting an update to fix it.
WELL - APPLE SAYS, they were unaware - they googled it while I was on the phn w/ them… Apparently THE WORLD KNOWS but APPLE does NOT ???‍♀??‍♀
They are going to look into it.
In the mean time they asked me to try connecting thru BLUETOOTH as opposed to direct connect thru the cord and report back to them.
Anyone else have this issue?

I only Bluetooth so far for hands free texting with Siri. Phone connects with no issues so far via BT. Haven't had any issues. 14 ProMax. Haven't had the need to plug in yet other than for some charging and that worked fine.

Are you plugging it in to the front USB ports on the dash, or in the center console? The center console USB is notoriously flaky and works for some but not others. If you're using the center console, try it on the front port for a while and see if it changes behavior.

Are you using it with the Bluetooth or plugged in?

They asked me to try it with Bluetooth instead of plugging it in so I’m gonna give that a try and see how that works. Thank you for trying to help.

You can use the maps and just my phone but it’s hard to see when you’re driving down the road and in multiple lanes of traffic the larger screen works much better, so yes you can use just the phone but it’s not as safe or effective

I will try the front port as opposed to the one in the council as well but the point of this really is that I didn’t have this problem until I got the 14 max pro - my old phone (11) worked fine with never an issues so I’m inclined to think it’s the phone and you connect in the Jeep issue as opposed to the jack or the port
if you Google it, there’s a lot of information out there on the Uconnect iPhone 14 promax in the jeep just trying to figure it out, so yes I’ll try the front port and I will also try Bluetooth. Thank you so much.

Bluetooth won't allow CarPlay to render on the Uconnect screen unless you've bought additional hardware explicitly for that functionality.

There are known issues with some Apple devices connecting using the center console port. Definitely try using another USB port first.

p.s. if you hit the reply button under the post that you're replying to it'll quote it and give a significant hint to what you're responding to. Otherwise we just try to guess.

TY for following up -
The 392 comes w/ car play and Bluetooth capability so that’s not an issue -
I tried the front port last night - we did not go far but it did not error out (so far) - interesting to know it can be as simple as a port issue ??‍♀
TY for clarity on the usage - I thought the quote above was messy lol

Yes, the 392 and other Jeeps come with Bluetooth for audio but not for CarPlay. It won't pull up the maps from your phone onto the uConnect screen unless you plug in. Jeep has issued a notice that Wranglers built after a certain date (Don't remember when but I think it was sometime in 2020) will not support using the center console USB for CarPlay.

You will probably find that your connection is solid with the USB port on the dash. My center console port worked fine with my Galaxy phone for the first couple of weeks then started getting flaky then stopped working with Android Auto at all. The center console USB port is a known issue and in a perfect world Stellantis would fix it under warranty but I'd rather just use the dash port than deal with the dealership and Jeep Cares trying to get it replaced.

Sounds to me like your first mistake was buying an iPhone. If you bought a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, not only would you have a better quality camera, you would also probably not have any issues with uconnect.

I myself am a Motorola guy. Or whatever is cheapest! Currently running the Motorola G100. Got it on Amazon for $400, and it's specs are comparable to a iPhone 13 Max Pro and the Samsung Galaxy s22 Ultra, except you know, $800 less. It pays to shop around. Also no issues with uconnect, but that's Android for you.

Thank you - I’ll look into that. Nancy
