WHAT??? Now I’m pumped! I’m sure it’s a longer trip to LA than it was to TN (I think you ordered from Gupton?) but still! I already have a trip to Baton Rouge planned in March which is only a couple of hours from the dealer. It would be SO GREAT if I could make one trip!

At what stage of the tracking do you usually start applying for financing from outside banks instead of dealer financing to try and improve your chances of getting the best rate? Is it best to basically wait until the dealer has it then apply online elsewhere to see if the dealer can beat it?

Have to say I just went with the dealer financing initially. When interests rates drop a bit, then I'll look at refinancing, probably with a local credit union.

I got the call from my dealer last Friday that mine had arrived at a nearby rail depot & that I had 1-2 weeks before delivery. I went ahead and started shopping around banks/credit unions after that.

I plan to finalize financing in the next few days so I’m ready to go.

That’s what I’m thinking especially since I’m using tread lightly, the 1750 jeep coupon and 9g down but at the same time I want to make sure I can guarantee financing and am probably overthinking I’ll get denied even though I’m also using a co-signer. I’m just being a worry wort being it’s special ordered with my name on it (literally lol)

That makes sense as well like I saw capital one I believe locks in for 30 days or something when you apply

You may want to look at new vs used financing rates before planning on this. Since the refinance would have the vehicle be used by then, you’ll likely get a less favorable rate. Might be worth considering the credit union at the start

I applied yesterday - was built earlier this week but not shipped yet. CU said the rate was good for 30 days.
