If you are going to stay in the 37" range, then price-wise an Ultimate Dana 44 is probably your best bet as a replacement.

ELD, Thicker tubes, thicker brackets, better clearance at the center section and stronger axle shafts with larger yokes and U-joints:

Then if you really wanted to bump it up a bit, you can add Reid knuckles and a set of aftermarket HD ball joints.

A dana 60 really is overkill unless you are headed for 40"+ tires.

I get what your saying. I would rather be over prepared. I don’t know if I’m going to want to run the Rubicon or head up to Moab yet but if I do I don’t want to have to do this all over again. Buy once cry once. I’ve already wasted money on upgrades and things I wished I hadn’t and I would like to avoid that mistake, if I can.

Btw at least it’s not a mall crawler, even if I not running the craziest out gnarliest trails.

I was in similar position and I bought rubicon axles. Got a good deal for a front and bought new rear. Used axle sets go for crazy prices right now and not worth buying in my opinion. I have 315 KO 2's right now. I just went to Moab and it was great, I also plan to do Rubicon. For your application stock Rubicon axles would be more than enough. You will also need a lift for 37's.

I’ve got a Clayton 2.5 Overland kit with Fox 2.0’s. AAL Fender liner’s and Barricade flat Fender’s. I shouldn’t have any problem fitting 37’s, plus I think it’ll be a slightly lower center of gravity build

I also considered regearing to 4.88 and just running these tires till they are worn out. Or just going 4.56 and move from 34’s to 35’s eventually. Not adding tires saves $2000-2500

I think it should work. I had to add 2" spacer (for now) lift to clear 315 tires and I also have aluminum liners and flat fenders. 37 KO 2's are a bit bigger, but you have higher lift.

Probably could have written that differently. The JL lineup comes with front D30 and rear D35 unless you choose a rubicon, or another model with upgraded axles as an option. I come from the JK world where all models have rear D44s.

But that being said I still plan on upgrading the Axles and regearing mainly because I plan onkeeping my Jeep for a long time and I want to have more confidence to get out further with the family. I go back and forth on 37’s or 35’s 4.88 or 4.56. I currently have a light set of Toyo AT 3 c rated 34’s on it

My vote would be skid plates and a solid winch. I would argue that could get you a lot further than 37s. Keep your current tires, go ride with folks who know what they are doing. And don’t think that pulling cable is a sign of anything other than getting through an obstacle.

I think it’s more about having lockers on the front and rear and with the upgraded Axles came the idea of bigger tires

I agree about the winch and skid plates tho, they are on the “eventually” list haha

Got a set of 392 takeoffs with 80 miles on them. He threw in extra brake lines and the factory locker switch. These axles are beefy. I knew the tubes were thicker and the brakes larger and the knuckles cast instead of aluminum but I didn’t know the accord were CV joints!
Also got a set of 37” Yokohama G003 MT’s that will be going on after I get these installed and regeared
