My 2022 JL Sahara Unlimited unfortunately came with halogen headlights.

In looked at an online dealer's website, there are two MOPAR LED headlight options listed, Part Number 82215136AE $778.57 and Part Number JLJTLEDHDLMP $1047.31. Of course they're indefinitely backordered but maybe some day!

Both are shown as fitting the 2022 JL but I see now way of differentiating between them.

Both come with a wiring harness but both are accompanied by the statement "For 2021 NAFTA JL/JT this is a plug and play kit, harness not required."

Any help translating all this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like your on @AllMoparParts.com 's site.

Maybe he can chime in, but looks to me like the assembled kit (PN JLJTLEDHDLMP) was one they pieced together before Mopar released 82215136AE as a single part.

They put upgrade "kits" together to make it easier than trying to track down multiple parts for an upgrade.

Actually moparonlineparts.com. They're a Jeep dealer's parts department and probably list the same parts that others do.

It would be SO nice if they kept this clear and simple.

My understanding is that running the headlight wiring harness into the BCM is only to allow use of the headlight's running light function (halo).

Thanks

Hi Guys,

Both kits include the same exact parts. The custom kit JLJTLEDHDLMP has better availability 30-45 days instead of no ETA on the Mopar accessory kit.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
-Benny

Hey Benny

I just received an email from you folks that my LED headlights shipped today. Really happy to see that email!
Can you confirm that they are simple plug and play, assuming that I'm not interested (for the time being) in the halo?

Thanks,
Jon

Thanks for that.

I’ve tried to research this myself but am coming up with conflicting information regarding the harness supplied in the kit.

Sme sources say that for a 2022 JL, running the harness to the BLM is not necessary. Others say it is required.

Any way you can clarify for me?

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Jon,
I would agree with that. On 21's+ harness is not required but sales code is still required to be added.

I’ve got a Sport S with halogen lights, are the halo lights compatible with the sport or do I need to wire the halo DRL separately from the stock lights to get the DRL feature?

Hi Jonathan,
Found your question and want to direct you to this write I did last year in case you haven’t seen it yet. Don’t know if it will answer definitively but hopefully help: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...oem-led-headlights-swap-what-i-learned.78546/

Hi,
They are compatible and if your Sig is correct you have a 2018? This means you will need to install the harness that is included with either kit.

Hey Jon,
I'm thinking that we are going to start offering a separate 2021+ kit without the harness. If you would like to return the unused harness let me know, Its roughly 65 dollars in value.

Hi Benny

Sure, if I'm not going to need it, I might as well return it..
The cartons arrived yesterday but I won't be able to get to them for a few days. Any special instructions regarding the return?
Thanks much.

Jon
