Try running the remote under the console on the driver's side and have it come out of the bottom of the console beside your right calf. That is, between the console and the carpet such that only the knob is hanging out facing downward. It's a tight fit, and your remote will stay pinched in there without any fasteners. That's where I've placed mine. It is discrete and easy to access.

I put my amp remote in the area right above the handbrake and below the armrest lid.

What is everyone using for the 4 inch speaker in the soundbar (next to the 3.5 inch tweeter in the soundbar)? I can't seem to find one that will sit nice in there?

I second this question. I've already upgraded the base system 2.5" speakers to the Kickers 3.5" speakers in the dash and in the soundbar, but want to see what other people are doing for the 4" speakers in the kick panels and the soundbar. Thoughts?

I've successfully run 5.25 Coaxials in the sound bar and 5.25 separates in the kick panels/dash. The Coax route was chosen for the sound bar because the space seemed to be too tight for the crossover box needed for separates.

For the separates, the mid-range components and crossovers are in the kick panels, and the separate tweeters are in the dash. I actually cut up the stock tweeter and hot glued the separate into that speaker housing. There's a full (albeit wordy) write-up on the trials/tribulations of modifying the ported kick panel enclosures in the adding an aftermarket amp thread.

In short, adding 5.25's to the soundbar wasn't too bad. Adding 5.25's to the kicks... well, it's do-able, but not easy. I used Hertz speakers, though I'd only recommend those if you are adding amplifiers. I'd recommend the Kickers if you want to use the stock head unit's power (base system).

Also, the 3.5 tweeter harness clip is smaller than the 4 inch in the sound bar. Does anyone know which harness adaptor to get for the 3.5?

I installed the Kicker 41DSC44 ($35 on Amazon). They fit pretty nice. I had to drill one small hole for the screw but sit really nice. You could also add some weather stripping around it if you are worried about any space between it and the bar. Mine sat pretty flush.

The drilling aspect freaks me out lol

I changed all the 3.5's in the car so far. There still needs to be a low end improvement. Thinking about a small sub for the trunk.

I am researching this myself right now. It appears Crutchfield has them on their site but I assume they use a model number specific for them as you are not able to find this part through Metra website. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_12071039/Metra-71-039C-Speaker-Wiring-Adapters.html

I just purchased Infinity Reference REF-3022 speakers 3.5" for the front dash and tweeters in the soundbar as well as Infinity Reference REF-4022 4" for the soundbar. I picked these as they have a lower ohm rating than the kicker speakers that most have recommended and should get more output with the base stereo.

I will have to trim/adjust a little for the 4" as they have 4 holes to secure instead of the 3 like the stock speakers. If you haven't seen these 4" speakers out of the Jeep yet you will be shocked. The magnet is tiny and overall feels cheap and weightless.

If you are all interested at all I can post pictures as I go through it.

Kicker 225 watt 5.25 inch. You will need dremmel. It’s not hard and it sounds so good. You will get the low end you want. I put the kicker 4 inch in front boxes.

I may do the 5.25" in the bar too. I got the Infinity 4" to put in first and if I don't like I will just move those to the front boxes and do the 5.25.

Cant wait to get this done tonight!

Do you need to pull the dome light first to drop the soundbar? Or does it all come down with one assembly?

You genius, that worked! I went ahead and soldered all the connections but with both sides hooked up, I got nothing but with the driver's only, it works. Not crazy bass but enough to complete the stock system and you can't see it from the side.

great to hear! Any issues with the sub cutting out? I think i ran a bad connection because my sub is currently cutting out at high volume but that seems like a wiring issue at the moment. Will post all my photos when this issue is fixed!

Holy crap! That’s a lot to do to replace the kick panel speakers. I think I’m happy enough now just having the 2.5” speakers replaced with the 3.5” Kickers and my Cerwin Vega amp/sub.

I did this as well with the aforementioned harness. The 'drilling' is really just screwing the speakers into the sound bar of the plastic. Jeep did this on the front 4's from the factory anyways. The sound bar section you have to mar is the cheap unexposed part of the soundbar anyhow.

Its a ****ing nightmare especially in a brand new car but with the right(ish) tools and masking tape and a full day you will be fine. The stock speakers have more bass than the kicker 4 inchers. The kicker 4 inchers are clearer. I considered for a while leaving the stock but since I came all this way I had to do it. Requires a sub if you go that route for sure.
