Awesome. I need to buy the kickers all around. I am thinking about 5.25 on the sound bar.

Those will require taking a dremel to the enclosure. Let me know how it goes, I may attempt it.

I'm installing my Alpine powered sub today, ran the power, just pulled the seat out but it started to pour. I wish I could find a bracket like the JK has but until it comes out, I guess I'll suspend it from the seat or mount it to the floor. From this thread, it seems we don't need a LOC but that seems odd, hopefully it's correct.

So I installed 5.25 kicker. I have a couple does and donts. 1. Don’t try and do it after happy hour. 2. Don’t do it without a proper Dremel tool. 3. A sawzall is not the proper tool.
However woke up this morning with a slight hangover and an amazing sounding rig.

Get the 5.25 and a Dremel and don’t look back.

The happy hour things is hilarious because that's my favorite time to work at home and I usually regret it.

I, unhappily, zip tied my alpine sub under the driver seat because I really don't want to put it on the floor and I can't screw into the seat. It's surprisedly stable and you can barely see it but it isn't getting sound. It has power and I'm guessing it's the line in's because I used butt connectors to connect the pigtails but Cinco de Mayo drinking interrupted my trouble shooting. I know better than to use butts but I do this every time, hoping soldering clears the issue up.

I tapped the factory rears on the passenger side, up on the roof before the sound bar. All wires identified in the other thread were clearly there BUT butt connectors.

My first JEEP product AND my first EVER factory order! No way was I gonna sacrifice on anything that I thought I needed. I've never ever towed anything, so the only option I passed on was the Tow Package. That said, the Alpine system BANGS! After fine tuning it to my taste, I LOVE it! I could go on about how many systems I've designed and installed over the years & how many high end cars I have with exceptional factory systems, but I won't. Trust me when I say, JEEP did their homework on this model. And the upgraded Alpine system is no exception. Color me pleased, 10 outta 10!

Installed the Kickers this evening into the dash tweeters. Much much better than stock. Much clearly mid range and highs. Going to replace the rollbar/soundbar speakers tomorrow with some JBLs.

Happy to say that i finished upgrading to kicker 4 and 3.5 inch all around and the hideaway in the trunk last night! +1 to doing it sober because some parts really really had me missing the JK (there are so many hard to reach screws and trim panel clips which break easily). Everything is back together now and sounds amazing.

I have a bunch of photos of the process, especially the trim removal / wiring which I will post early this week!

To each his own but I think it sounds fantastic even at this small speaker size, you just need a sub. I did not have to use any aftermarket resistors or anything to get a self powered sub going, however, there would be no getting around them if you were installing an amp. I decided to leave my amp out as I did not have to pull out the head unit and the system was noise free on mute / makes my ears bleed at full volume so I felt it would actually make things worse.

I could only get mine to work by tapping into the factory drivers side and NOT the passenger side ( if i connected both, the rear passenger channel gets no signal from the uconnect unit). Definitely worth a shot to swap them! I bolted the sub into the trunk storage compartment - its a cheap removable piece of plastic anyways and there is already a hole there that goes outside the car so you can easily wire to the battery. There is also a factory ground next to the cigarette lighter. My powered sub would not turn on until it was properly grounder here rather than a different part of the frame.

Love it. Looking forward to the photos!

You genius, that worked! I went ahead and soldered all the connections but with both sides hooked up, I got nothing but with the driver's only, it works. Not crazy bass but enough to complete the stock system and you can't see it from the side.

Still not sure where to put the remote so it's still hanging out by the driver's seat so that's the cord you see. Also, went to the beach and the Jack Russel shed a lot.

What is everyone using for the 4 inch speaker in the soundbar (next to the 3.5 inch tweeter in the soundbar)? I can't seem to find one that will sit nice in there?
