I have a 2021 wrangler wiyh mm186 front and mm200 in the rear. It my understanding that Eaton doesn't or plan to make a Truetrac for them. Was wondering if any body has put a locker of another brand in one

OX and ARB make a locker for the m186. I've put a lunchbox style locker in mine. It works fine, but that style locker has pros and cons. A selectable locker is better.

FYI........You maybe wasting money on these lockers if you choose to keep this vehicle for any length of time; utilizing your Dana 30/35 axle equivalents. 33 " tires should be the max size you are considering. For the cost of these lockers......wait and look for some Rubicon takeoffs.

Theres no hard and fast rule on tire size to locker ratio. I have 35's and a front locker on the m186 (and 5.13 gears). It really REALLY depends on how you drive it, and where.

I got a TORQ locker on my front axle. Installed myself. Works really really well.

Fathead..........I had 35" tires on my Dana 30 and 35 with expensive ARB lockers.........your ring gear will fail. Ask me how I know. Of course, this was back in the day, when the Dana 44 was not offered yet, on a Jeep TJ. Lots of options these days.........Take advantage of them.

Botton line: Lockers will give you the confidence you need to improve your driving ability. Thus, giving you the comfort you need to tackle difficult obstacles. It does not take much experience or time behind the wheel of a Jeep to accomplish this...........You WILL need to upgrade.

Again. It depends on how you drive it, and where. I'm not disagreeing that its a weak link, but it wont fail for light trail use.

nah. most likely fine up to 35s. Buddy on 37s locked and regeared front D30 still running good after 3 years or so. And he wheels his jeep harder than avg. I did tell him it is a time bomb. He is still good tho lol.

Finding JL rubi takeoff axles is not easy. And people are asking too much for them.

ouch. was it a JL? it happens. Ring gear seems to be the most common failure. Definitely need to be mindful of the D30. I put the cheaper torq up front because you never know. I am good and push the Jeep, but only running 33inch tires (heavy tho). My rear is d44 and id be installing a selectable there when the LSD craps out.

I'd recommend anyone with a d30 to try a cheap locker just incase. But honestly most people on 33s and 35s are ok.

One thing to consider and often left out is the environment in which one wheels.....

Holt03 lives in Indiana......East coast wheeling is nothing like West coast wheeling. Sloppy slick mud is the issue. Tires won't clean out the mud, without some wheel speed.

Well, I said it twice. ;) It depends on how and where you wheel before I tell anyone a locked d30 is a bad idea on 35's because youre right. What breaks them is sudden wheel stopping with lots of wheel speed, or bouncing at any wheel speed on rocks.

Or going in reverse with lots of traction on a grade.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Rubicon takeoffs are easy to find........check the Recyclers (Bone Yards) ......

https://car-part.com/
Just did a quick check for a Rubicon front, quite a few on there but not a single one for under $3200
You can get new crates for that price.
