We have an LED replacement option for the 2018 Wrangler, and a video demonstrating the installation procedure. Here's a link to that thread:

Another option, would be to add one of our Stage Series Light bar as an additional backup light. Here's an example with our 12" Stage Series on a customer's Subaru XV:

Still need to get some pictures of a Stage Series bar for our JL!

Unfortunately I don’t think the stock led reverse lights are the same format as the non led ones. I don’t think you can just plug in one of your led bulbs

You are correct, and I apologize if OP's post was for LED-equipped JL's (disregard the bulb option if that's the case).

Please take the time to explain..you dropped the ball in regard to your post..

So, are you saying you have a brighter, LED backup light replacement for JL's that have factory installed LED backup lights? If so, how much and what's the install process for same.

No, I apologize for the confusion. We do not offer a replacement for factory-LED equipped models. The bulb replacements are available for non-LED equipped Wranglers only.

Busy as ever this Thursday! lol

Thank you,
Nick C.

Too bad. That would have been an easy fix.

Sweet, but all I want is to see objects when I back up at night, not signal the international space station! :cwl:;)

My question was adding lights to the existing set up. Not replacing bulbs.

Adding a small light bar and having it triggered with your factory reverse lights will be your best bet!

Is the light output in regard to the LED backup lights sufficient enough?

Read on another forum a guy saying LED backup light output was poor.
no, they suck.

a couple small led flat lights in the factory steel bumper where the reflectors are at
makes the most sense. wire them into the backup light wire, and then the camera
can see something before you hit it.

then you can hit it properly. i hate doing something half assed.

I agree. The back up lights are terrible. The back up camera is basically useless without street lights or some other kind of illumination.

I pulled my tail lights out but there about 14 wires in there and I wasn’t going to start splicing them all to figure out which one powers the back up lights. Anyone with some insight? I do like the idea of the tow hitch wiring if someone has some instructions for that as well.

Thanks in advance!
