Any recommendations for how to treat a JLR 2.0T in it's first 1000 miles or so?

First, treat it to a real nice steak & lobster dinner.
Second, open up your owner's manual to page 152. There you will find your answer.

You know... with as much as I paid to bring my 2.0 home from the lot, you'd think it could by ME a steak and lobster dinner! Just sayin'...

Considering that many people probably don’t live within a couple mile radius of their dealer, one would think auto manufacturers would put the engine break-in procedures on page 1 of both the manual & the quick start guide.

I love how many people respond to forum questions with "read your manual." I mean, not that it isn't often the right answer, but damn... LOL

In my head, I picture a weary hiker spending hours and hours climbing a mountain in the Himalayas to seek out a guru who will answer any 1 question... And so he finally gets there and poses his question:
"Guru, what is the meaning of life?!"

After pausing to think for a few seconds, the guru turns and looks down at the weary traveler, "Just read the manual, my son!"

Whether right or wrong, the owner’s manual is the definitive resource for all things pertaining to the vehicle per the manufacturer’s requirements, vs opinions or just flat out incorrect information from random strangers on the internet. It’s the classic give a fish vs teach to fish.

I found the manual you are looking for. https://www.amazon.com/Lifes-Missing-Instruction-Manual-Guidebook/dp/111865966X

I could have said RTFM, but I was trying to be nice.

Bought my 2018 in 2019 with 4 miles. Less that 250 miles from 70k in my 2018. Personally I have been beating the piss out of this engine. So much as my rear axle failed and was replaced under warranty. I have had 0 engine issues. Changed the plugs at 59k miles 4k miles after I got a new axle (under warranty) and put the lift and 37s on it. Oil changes have been the only maintenance so far.

So then why do we have a JL discussion board? Why to people like to chat about things they like and are interested in, such as the 2.0T in a new JLR? And why would it be assumed that someone starting such a discussion had not already read the manual? Is there really nothing people enjoy discussing past the manual that has to do with starting out with this motor? Ok, then.

I'm pretty sure the main purpose of this forum is to make fun of mall crawlers while being a mall crawler, discuss which angry grill looks the best, come to a conclusion on which motor is the best, and make peace between 4dr and 2dr Jeep owners... feels like I'm forgetting something though.

In all seriousness, I forget what the manual says for break in but I tried to follow that loosely. Most importantly I tried to keep the first 300 or 350 miles to what the manual says more so for wearing in the gears and not as much of a concern for motor wear in. There's almost as long of a debate on how to properly break in a motor as there is about how the 2.0 is such a vastly superior motor to the 3.6.
