I went for a hike

I would bet in normal times that would be the process. In these times I would say it is a nightmare for all manufacturers with material shortages etc. we (consumers) are feeling inflation across the board.

Yeah I was thinking they may have got hit with price hikes from vendors across the board after the new year? Seems likely these days. Maybe new contract year or something.

It’s like you are buying toilet paper with a price on the shelf, by the time you get to the cashier the price increases! ?
2020 ?

I started this thread to simply get more information on price protection among dealers but it has turned into something else entirely. Chapman has been around for a while and sells a lot of cars, with a lot of great reviews. I would assume that they do business well. With that being said, is there any way to close this thread? Let me know if it can be closed so the rants stop. This guy has a business, stop trying to destroy it.
Well stated, it’s essentially 2 people posting everywhere trying to bash Chapman, total BS. If you don’t like their policy order elsewhere.

I placed sn order with Chapman beginning of october, one of the last days to order a 21 begore the freeze. They took my order when others wouldnt. The jeep was delivered in early december only a couple of days after it was built, chapman had it prepped and ready for pickup about 2 days after that. They were always helpful, always professional, never tried to sell me anything i didn't need or want such as extended warranties. A real pleasure to work with. I can't say enough good things about them. I found them on the forum, traveled 2 hours to pick up the jeep and I'm glad i did. Great experience!

Seems like a whole lot of speculation here on whether or not "price protection" exists today so if someone would like to post a shot of such a magic "check box" on a dealership order screen then we'll all have confirmation please and it will move past the uncertain answer stage. This is on par with a bunch of drunks arguing in a bar right now or old men in a coffee shop, all of which have no real facts so lets get some facts - don't just say it loudly either - show it !
I believe it did once exist as ordering in the past I could choose price and incentives either on the day I ordered or on the day of arrival but had to choose during ordering and take the chance which I always chose day of order but that is no more (there were odd incentives like military and car show discounts long ago even on Wranglers)
If you have one on order - keep it on order !
What is your other option ? order one with the new high prices ? take one off a dealer lot ?
You made your choice so now stick to it, if you can afford any brand new Wrangler your not poor so just pony up, suck it up, and pay the piper and you'll have exactly what you wanted very soon.
I ordered a pink jeep the weekend of the pink announcement and by the time I got it paid about 400 bucks more and I was using actual employee discounting and I had no choice
As far as places like Gupton goes they probably choose to eat a few hundred dollars but I doubt they can keep it up, my RHD just went up $4,000 last week on the base price - no ones eating that.
Dealerships don't all make the same on any car, their are tiers to get month end incentives (huge ones) and I'm guessing Gupton maxes that out every single time, the other guys could certainly work more with the customer but are crooked obviously - well duh !

To everyone on this chat:
I think Tom @dealerinsider (Chapman) just proved his point about how Stellantis invoices him...he literally showed a Jan 18th invoice based on another member's random VIN and the invoice was price protected (this was in the Chapman Thread). So Tom was extremely transparent and it appears he does not have to apply for anything since that invoice was backdated and price protected. This tread got very negative about Chapman...can we agree to delete our negative posts about him/Chapman? I think he was upfront about everything and the invoice actually proven Chapman price protected. Again, I do not work for Chapman, just ordered a Jeep from him and am looking forward to it. If you don't want to delete, I understand, just think it is the right thing to do since he showed he is price protecting and pretty darn honest the whole time.

@dealerinsider Did you receive any Wrangler invoices today (Jan 20th)? Were they all invoiced at the pre-Jan 17th price hike? Or was it some were, some were not.

From Gupton CDJR: We are not increasing your price. There has been a price increase however we have it sold order protected as long as you pick up within 14 days of it arriving at our location.

I ordered mine on November 27th.

With the recent January 17th price hikes on 2022 models, which dealers are offering price protection on factory orders?
I contacted my dealer and was told there wouldn’t be a price increase I ordered on the October 15
