Hey guys! ( first time jeeper here) might sound a little excessive but ive driven many lifted trucks both big and small and never seen anything this bad. So last week I installed my 2.5 Inch skyjacker lift with black maxx shocks with my 35s and finally had a chance to make it on my first highway drive to jeep beach. Here is what is happening, At highway speeds (60-80mph) on a straight smooth highway the jeep drives very straight with no problems, Now when there is a bump or a groove in the road the jeep literally tries to kill me. Ive never felt swaying so bad and pulling as hard as this did. im talking 2 hands and hold on for dear life LOL also if you need to slam on the brakes (i had to do multiple times) the jeep will sway back and forth and feels like the back end is lifting off the ground ( its not stopping) tire pressures ive been messing with and had them at 36-37 cold psi on this drive and warm psi of about 38-39.So the big question is, is this all normal for a jeep or is something wrong, maybe the lift in general?

I went with the RC lift and 35's. Started with a PSI of 37 and noticed the same thing. Lowered PSI to 32 and it drove like a completely different vehicle. I would start there. I didn't do the chalk test, but I would be willing to run the PSI even lower.

is that a spacer kit or a full spring/shock kit? I will try this asap. btw have you got an alignment? I heard there's no need more one and that came from a local jeep shop. Because its only a 2inch lift. thoughts?

It is a spacer lift.

The shop that installed said an alignment was necessary. So, yes I did get an alignment afterwards. Most places you can take it and let them check alignment for free and if it is out they will charge for the adjustment. I would just take it and go from there.

check every last nut and bolt that you touched for the install make sure nothing has come loose and retighten every thing down, check your steering and alignment make sure it has been adjusted properly as the geometry has changed

Get the alignment checked. We had a JL with terrible toe in from the factory. Bigger tires won't like toe problems at speed

Lowering the tire pressures should help.
Did you loosen all the control arm(16 bolts) and track bar (4 bolts) then re-torque them when the Jeep was on the ground and settled?
I've noticed weird handling characteristics when those bolts aren't torqued at the new ride height(Especially the trackbars.)

I have the same lift and that is not normal, mine rides better that OEM - sounds like something is off or loose if it’s only happening when you bumps.

Yeah, I have the 3.5-4" kit and even without the included cam bolts & frameside trackbar bracket it tracks straight down the highway at 60 hitting bumps and all. Heavy crosswinds do push me around a bit, but I expect my adjustable control arms to help remedy that when I am able to adjust the caster.

Depending on the tires you have, if they are E’s you really probably need to be down to about 28 psi. You’re way too high which will make it feel like that. My little JK Rubicon was the same exact way with too much tire pressure on 35’s.

As others have said, get an alignment and chalk test your tires to figure out the correct psi for your Jeep. There are two many variables to just spit out a random number but one thing is a guarantee, 37psi is too much air pressure.
