Howdy folks, I just picked up a 2018 Rubicon JLU. As does every basic Jeep boi, I plan on lifting her a bit and throwing some 35s on there. I don't want to go so crazy as to lift it high enough to require mods/upgrades beyond the lift kit and tires. My question is, what 2-3" lift kits out there will give me that little bit of extra height without downgrading the quality of the suspension from the stock Rubi one? Has anyone tried the one MOPAR makes, and with what results?

Been driving around with the AEV 2.5 DualSport for about 600 miles in my ‘21 JLUR and I love it. Fits 35’s easily. The only thing I added is a JKS Adjustable Front Track Bar to recenter the axle.

What are you doing with your Jeep though? Overlanding? Then the AEV lift is great, if not look at maybe the Dynatrac as it’s a 2” lift and gets great reviews. The AEV is designed to be loaded up with gear so the 2.5” lift is more than that if not. Going much higher than actual 2.5” lift starts to give a little more wheel gap running 35’s and looks a tad off. If you are off-roading/rock crawling look at MetalCloak for flex. Maybe Rock Krawler. I’m running Synergy lift and been happy with it.

Mopars Lift has been given a lot of bad posts by mostly big flex fanboys who have never had it on their rig. To mopar's kit add front adjustable LCA's and front and rear adjustable T.B's and you will be happy.
I think most peoples issue with the Mopar lift is for price you need to add those additional be parts to get it to be a complete setup.

I agree with the statement that 35’s would start to look small with a lot of the 2.5” lifts. I have the Dynatrac (would have loved full MC but this was best for my family) on my Sport S and it is one that would be low enough to stay with 35’s.

I plan to purchase Teraflex 3.5” for mine when I take delivery this month or next. I know they make a 2.5” option, and that they make quality stuff.

Apparently some yahoos think that’s funny…

OP asked about a Mopar lift. Why all the posts not pertaining to the OP's question?
I’m not so much asking about the Mopar lift specifically so much as I want to know what I can do to lift the rubi without ending up with an overall worse suspension. TheMOPAR just seemedlike a good baseline option to explore since it uses the same Fox shocks as the Rubi

Yeah good point, besides maybe throwing on steel bumpers and a winch I don’t intend to drastically increase my weight. As for the Dynatracs how do they compare in ride/performance quality to the stock rubicon suspension?

Over landing is the end goal. Right now it’s a daily driver/Weekend beach buggy. I really don’t intend to increase the weight a ton, maybe steel bumpers that’s it. My lean is towards the light duty OME BP-51 but I don’t know enough about suspensions at this point to invest $3500 in a product

Metalcloak lift all the way. Had mine for about a year with Fox 2.5 DSC shocks. Just drove 16 hours to Moab, wheeled, and drove back. Other than the head wind in Kansas it drove as good as any vehicle.

To Mopar's kit add front adjustable LCA's and front and rear adjustable T.B's and you will be happy. Or add 1" spacers to the springs and see how you like a little lift for 35's. Many say that's all you need with 35's. I opted for Mopar's lift, 37's and have wheeled it hard. Ride and handling are very good. https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/showcase/biscuit.1163/
I’d assume the ride is pretty similar to stock? What are these LCAs and TBs of which you speak?

My bad. Rubicon and the Mopar Kit do not use the same shock.
News to me. A dealer had told me they do but I’ve found that half the time Jeep dealers have no clue what they’re talking about. Can you speak to the differences between the two?

With all your new info and to simplify my response I will recommend a lift and be done.
AEV's 2.5 lift kit was designed based on Mopars but with overlanding in mind. Talk to them and you will be happy a happy overlander. Cheers
Sweet, thanks for the recommendation!
