I'm with you on getting the build you want. But the TRM system is such a minor addition and so easily added later, that to wait an extra month or two just to have it out of the gate was too much for me. Color, wheels, interior, engine, these are all things you want to commit to and be willing to wait for. A nebulous $150 rail system that doesn't even really have any after market support and is easily bolted into your Jeep later? Kind of silly to hold out for.
I found out yesterday (from "Sergio") that when you order the Hard Top Headliner that your build will spend an extra week or two in JB at the end so the aftermarket group can add the headliner. I'm not excited about that, but by the time my Jeep is delivered I'll be overjoyed and almost completely forget about the long wait time. :time::time::time: I'm not sure what other options add similar delays, but it would be interesting to compile a list.

@Torenhall , I can definitely see your logic. And appreciate it.

Personally, I demand that my ideal JKUR build be 100% complete for me at the time of delivery. Others may be willing to get their vehicle in their possession and then wait for certain options. Which is cool.

Guess I am lucky that I still get to drive my 2015 JKU while waiting on my new JLUR. :like:

Great thing about it is that we are all part of the "Jeep Family" at the end of the day - which is awesome!

Does anyone know why this simple thing is even an issue? You would think it be easy to get/install. Mine came with a package, so if I can drop it I might. But I don’t want it to reset the clock. I just got my vin! Lol

That is kind of a bummer. But it's still not even close to the delay the rail sys caused me. Plus it's different because it's a measurable, consistent delay, whereas the trs is some new wacky thing they've never done before and who knows when they'll figure it out.

@Torenhall

Someone correct me if I am wrong but, I believe that certain options/components are installed at a different/separate facility and that the vehicle needs to be transported there for installation.

Unfortunately you can't change your order once in D status.

I think you are correct, and this causes a predictable delay. But the tr system they are still trying to figure out how to incorporate it into the assy line. Who knows when they'll start running them through

My dealer just called and sent me these pics! My Rubi has arrived! He said it hit the railyard yesterday and he expedited it's shipment from there so I'd have it in time for the beautiful Colorado weekend coming up. Wasn't supposed to be here until Monday! Heading there after work to pick it up. More pictures will come shortly.
Hey Scipax,
I just stalked your Jeep. I walked into the dealership and no one had a clue about the Jeep. I ended up spotting it outside and all the sales guys came out with me to check it out. It’s beautiful! See you on the trail.

I went through a similar thing. I knew I could have put stock wheels and no running boards on my Sport S and save money by buying take-offs after the fact.

But it was important to me that after waiting years for this Jeep, it look great the day I picked it up. Yes - It is a Sport and it will need some work once I get it, but I wanted to be as good as it could be stock. Even if it meant paying a little more.

And at the time I ordered people were convinced that Premium Soft Top and Manual Transmission would slow it down. it didn't. But even if it had I was not going to compromise on those options.

Damn. After seeing all these pictures, wish I would have spent a bit more time looking at the colours. Never even considered a gray/silver since I don’t like it usually but this colour is awesome. Great choice guys. I’ll still be happy with firecracker red but that grey is sweet.

I don't like the sound of that. I ordered those.:(

I'm really not a fan of the Rubicon wheels. Thinking about the Quadratec Hardrocks. Bonus they are 17"x8.5". My SG JLUR will have black fenders/top. Leaning towards the Grey, also considering all black. Opinions?
