We have now had every single argument imaginable on this post. You oaks going on and on about what capatalism is haha. I like how Newtons theory of gravity was also thrown in there to make a point! You cant make this stuff up

I went back and looked at your most recent posts, and other than this one, I think you've got pretty reliable information on timing. The Reddit info is proving the most accurate since that is straight from the factory and you were told that you should enter framing on May 11. That was based on your current gateline number, which is a quantifiable measure as opposed to an unsupported date. You wrote that this afternoon's call to Jeep resulted in an estimated ship date of May 12, which is consistent since it takes two to three days to get through the build.

Now's a good time to talk about the meaning of estimated ship date since it definitely doesn't mean the date it gets put on a truck to your dealer. Again, going through the Reddit posts and other dealer/FCA posts on this forum, I infer that "ship" refers to the date that the build is complete and leaves, or is shipped out of the factory.

However, it's still in Toledo. Inspections may reveal quality issues that are dealt with in a separate repair shop. Depending on the model and options, it may go to a local third party for specific add-ons (e.g. headliners, decals). Once past that, it is sent to the transport lot that is run by another third party. They are the ones responsible for scheduling the shipments and arranging transport within guidelines set by FCA.

When you finally get your vehicle is dependent on location and method of shipment. If you are close to Toledo, like Sweet Water, it will get loaded on a truck and you could see it in days. For most, the destination is far enough away that it travels by rail. Then you are dependent on there being enough vehicles going to the same distribution point to fill the necessary rail cars. Once on the rails, the cars may sit in yards waiting to be passed off from one railroad to another. When they get to a distribution point, they can again sit until they are transloaded to trucks that may go straight to the dealer or may go to another intermediate yard.

This is convoluted, but from what I can see, 3 weeks for delivery after the "ship" date seems nominal if you look at destinations nation-wide. There are many examples of it being less, but as we know from this forum, some have waited six weeks or more. Being in Canada, I'll be surprised if I see my JLR within four weeks after the "ship" date which is now around May 1.

Bottom line, don't be discouraged. You're near the finish line compared to where you started and you'll likely get yours before I get mine. BTW, we're build brothers since we have the same 1-8 order date and were both initially assigned the same 4-28 ship date.
Thanks for the reply and info. After the initial excitement of my first call I realized I never asked for an actual status code and I started thinking it may be more than coincidence that the "ship date" just given and drillionaire's build date were so close. On Sunday my dealer said I was back in D, something they never saw but the did let me know early in the week I was back in D1 and they had hopes for a delivery by the end of May. They did get a load of vehicles last month direct on a truck from the plant. I was told they request this as it is quicker or something like that. I stopped in one Sunday and the driver dropped off several Jl's late the night before. So I would say to anyone calling be sure to get a status code, not just a description of your progress. Best of luck to everyone!

Back on track here.

So I PMed Drillionaire and left a message on the Reddit. I wasn't planning on bugging him twice but after I sent the PM I wasn't sure if he was only responding to the thread.

Anyways he responded to both. His responses were different which wasn't exactly what I wanted to hear.

PM response:
"Your car is currently in paint shop and should be built tomorrow"

Thread response:
"3000 cars ahead of you expect it to be built Monday"

Either of those is great but how could he get two different results for the same VIN. I guess that just keeps the traditions of this thread alive.

I’ve yet to get a reply from the email I sent to the new place Wednesday night. :time: No surprise there whatsoever.
However, according to Drillionaire my girl should be built next week!!!!!:champagne::handsinair:

Thank youuuuuu @cedxc2005!!!!!!:like:
I don't think their email account works. I tried that too. Ended up calling. I think Drillionaire despite being a little different in both responses is correct on my status. I expect it to be built by Monday.

We are getting there!!

my conspiracy theory is that drillionaire is a proxy for jeep wrangler brand marketing to diffuse some of the tension around 2 door delays.

the account is a few years old, and is likely a real plant employee. what i mean is that marketing recruited this figure internally to “leak” VIN-level details and usurp jeep chat while simultaneously launching a new dedicated JL hotline. feels like part of a multi-pronged approach to managing blowback that the brand might suffer.

regardless, i’m still bummed that no auto columnist or blogger has picked up this story of epic delays. if allocations of 2 door parts to stuff channel with 4 doors is true, then the story has legs.

but yeah, still waiting on my 2 door with PST...

Once each one of us start getting our Jeeps, we will be too busy enjoying them, and forget about FCA.. I like your theory, makes sense.

Hopefully with the JK line shutting down they will ramp up the JL 2 door production.
I’m done contacting Jeep through anyone but my dealership.
The conflicting information and constant letdowns are many.
This thread is also getting pretty toxic. I understand the frustration as I am also getting sick of waiting without solid information from FCA about the holdup.
I ordered back in January.
I still have high hopes but what an absolute circus this whole order has been.

One real thing they should do and CAN do is give us, the long suffering and patient fans, finance free loans. It is easily done, and it will go a long way to keep us devout fans. They don’t have to, with the sales as they are, but it would redeem them in our eyes.
