Factory "doors-off" side mirror relocation option

There seems to be a factroy option now for relocated mirrors. Does anyone have pictures of the factory door-off side mirrors and how they mount?

Why don't you want relocaed mirrors when the doors are off?

Personally for me. One reason would be to avoid tickets. It would also be nice to see your blind spots in traffic whe driving around without doors. How's that?

I am pretty sure it's legal to drive without side mirrors as long as the rear view is unobstructed,

Most of the fun with driving top and doors off is the Freedom. You should be checking your blind spots by looking over your shoulders not with your mirrors anyways.

I was just curios cause that's the way it is on the 202? Bronco and looks stupid imo..

It might depend on which State you live in. There is a Federal guideline that sets requirements that specifically mandate side mirrors and a rear-view mirror.

I ordered the option with similar thoughts as you @Viper01, but I’ve been wondering the past few days whether or not I really want the look b/c given most of the time the doors will be on.

In my 79 Isuzu Luv I had one of those rear view mirrors that went the length of the windshield and I could see everything including blindspots. It had angled mirrors. It was quite handy. You might look into that. Also saw some half tube doors somewhere with side mirrors which looked cool

Cops rarely pull you over for anything out here in Arizona but speeding, but we are more Free than most States. Just be glad we don't live in California

I almost ordered the option, then decided I liked the revie and look of the Carolina Metal Masters mirrors. Here is what I found when I was contemplating.

Was thinking I saw somewhere the large bracket mounted with the light isn't required? Mounting just the mirror requires removing one extra screw plus an extra spacer but I can't find a pic.

Probably a silly question - I assumed that the relocation was permanent - do you move the mirrors from default location to the alternate mount every time as part of taking the doors off?

Mine stay on the tube doors but the other mirrors that you are looking at will have to be mounted each time you take off your doors. They do come with their own mirror though, so you won't have to remove that from your doors. If you noticed in the picture, the mirror uses the door hinge for mounting so it cannot be left on with doors on.

I remember those full length panoramic mirrors back in the 70s-80s. I tried one back in the day. I think Rally still makes them today. They actually worked great but they did not look so great. Kind of junky. Very JC Whitney. lol.
