I located our Rubicon on the lot at Island Chrysler Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. Pawleys Island, SC. It had every option that I was looking for and then some. The deal went smoothly without adding any additional fees upon arrival at the dealership. It listed for $53630 and I purchased it for $49000 with dealership discount, military discount, tax, tags included. I had my vehicle pre-approved loan at Navy Federal for 2.9%. This is our first Jeep and we're both completely satisfied with it. I've completed a few minor mods and I'm looking forward to a few more. I look forward to waving at any and all fellow Jeep owners while wheeling around NC.

Hi Can you share the dealer with me also? I'm in Wilmington(well Carolina Shores), but it's worth the ~$1800 savings to go to Raleigh. All the dealers around here are at invoice, plus or minus a couple hundred dollars.
I bought my sport here in Wilmington for 5% below invoice right off the lot. Just checkout the Koon's deal and other pricing threads and bring this up they will play ball. Better for them to make some money than no money by me driving up to VA to get the price I want, is what I told them verbatim.

Honestly, man, Uwharrie is a great place to practice. 80% of the trails are perfectly fine for a stock Jeep. You can do all the trails with a stock Jeep, but it depends on your confidence factor. I took my 2014 JKU Rubi through each trail, to include Daniel up and down. There's a very difficult, prupose built rig trail on daniel on the L/H side as you go down towards the entrance to it. There's another path your jeep will do fine going down though. The shelf at the very bottom is probably the sketchiest part, but otherwise, you'd do great to practice out there. Hit me up if you ever want to go. I sold my JK and have a JL on order, but I'll meet you there on the KTM and spot for you. I'm always looking for an excuse to go ride!
Good to hear...will be heading over there whenever Jeep decides to deliver my order!

Would love to hear your experience with Ilderton. PM if needed. Thanks!
I loved Ilderton. We bought their first JL. Ask for Matt, he's very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. We even got free shirts, hats, etc.
They have a white Rubicon on the lot if you're interested ( I saw it last week) otherwise they have plenty of JL stock.

Not a big shop but very good work and prices: Tarheel 4WD Center, 626 Hwy 24 27 W, Midland, NC 28107

There is a nice 4x4 superstore on South Blvd (Can't remember the name) but they are pricey.

New member. Glad to be here. Live in Charlotte. Have only owned a Jeep for a year, and haven't taken it offroard, but would love to do Uwharrie sometime.

There is 4 Wheel Parts Performance on South Blvd. at Scaleybark. I've never been there.

Have a 2017 Wrangler Sport S, and just ordered a 2018 JLU Sport S yesterday (Sting Gray, order confirmation attached). I went through Kristin Lents at Hendrick, who I've really liked and has been super helpful. I'll tell you, I got an offer from Koons for the same car that, as an out-the-door price, was probably about $1200 less than what I'm paying Hendrick for the same car. The offer came in after I'd already agreed with Kristin (I did all this via email, sending my spec build to about 5-6 dealerships, with Koons being the only out-of-state one). To tell you the truth, given my job and with two teenage kids, etc., I personally value the local dealership over that price differential, but that's a very individual thing. (If I'd gotten the Koons offer before, I'd probably have pushed Kristin a little harder, maybe not all the way down to match it, but to make the difference about the price of a plane ticket to fly up to D.C. to pick it up at Koons and drive it back).

I'm also posting the Koons markup of my offer.

On another thread, someone said that Steve White Motors in Newton, NC provided a 5% under invoice offer on a JL. I obviously haven't back-checked that one.

They're telling me 6-8 weeks for the JLU in Sting Gray. We'll see -- I'm conservatively expecting more like 10-12.

By the way, when the new JLU arrives, I'm planning on swapping out the wheels and the headlights, but probably not lifting it. Does Tarheel 4WD Center have a selection of wheels and LED headlamps? Other suggestions? Or would I be just as well off using the Hendrick offroad center that they have at their dealership?

Yeah, i didn’t realize Jeep was really incentivizing dealers with big kickbacks, so I went in at a couple bucks over invoice for my order. Same thing i’ve done for past couple cars ive ordered. Didn’t want to retrade the salesguy when i found that out...so will just hold my generosity a a chip to curry greater favor  on some extras...

It seems the earliest orders got hung up huge due to ‘whatever’ issue, but folks that ordered around my timeframe are starting now. Though my 6-8 estimate was a fail you have a better shot

Thanks for the info on the time lag.

For what it's worth, I did talk to the salesperson at Hendrick (who I really like -- she's the New Car Sales Manager) and provided her with the Koons markup, just to see if they could do anything. Basically she said that their experience with Koons is that they put people on long waiting lists, and then hard-sell them in the finance office for add-ons when they show up to pick up, and that the deal I got was basically cost to dealer after dealer prep. I'm sure there's some wiggle in there, but I wasn't going to push it.

Also, she pointed out that she would work with me and the offroad department guys on getting a good deal on the two aftermarket addons I want -- different wheels (including a trade-in for my "never driven" stock wheels when the new Jeep arrives) and LED headlights.

Honestly, that's good enough for me. I'm a contract lawyer, and believe in a Japanese style of negotiating where everyone leaves the table thinking they got something and gave something up, not scorched-earth negotiation.

Tarheel 4WD has little to no showroom but can order or install anything you like.
