New guy here and finally got a few things sorted on the new Jeep. Got her before covid and given me plenty of time to work on her. I'm kinda at a cross roads with the next steps BUT so far here's what I've done. 2020 JLU Manual.

Foundation:
  • Teraflex 4.5" Alpine RT3 Short Arm
  • Falcon 3.3s & Falcon steering stab.
  • Teraflex speedbumps
  • Adams 1350 Front and Rear Driveshafts
  • KMC Beadlocks & 38" Pats
  • Reared to 5:10
  • RCV Front and Rear Axle shafts
  • Steer Smarts Drag link/track bar
  • Metalcloak Diff guards
  • Warn Winch
Interior:
  • 67 Designs Rail system
  • Garmin Overlander
  • Garmin InReach
  • Yasau Handheld
  • IPad Mini
Back:
  • American Adventure Lab; MASS Platform, fridge slider, 6' drawer, 3' drawer, back seat shelf
  • Dometic Fridge
  • Vector Offroad shelf
  • Outback Adventures Trailgater
Roof/Sides:
  • Rhino Rack Pioneer
  • Crazy Beaver shovel/Rhino rack mount
  • MaxTaxx/Rhino rack mount
  • TrailRaxx Roto mounts
  • Rhino Rack Batwing Compact awning
Lights:
  • KC Pro 6 Gravity Light Bar
  • KC Pro 6 Gravity A Pillar & front bumper lights
  • KC Amber Fogs
  • KC Rock Lights

In the garage and not yet on:
  • DV8 Sliders
  • AAL Front inner fender
The two things I have NOT yet sorted is I still think the rear is lower, I added a 1/2 spacer in the rear but I think I need better rear springs, I dunno, any suggestions. The other is, in the rear I'm rubbing towards the bumper on that dumb plastic. Not sure how to fix that, anyone have any ideas?

You went all in on a lot of nice gear! Jeep looks great and will hopefully provide an adventure platform for a long time! Happy to see that 6-speed in there.

Had to special order the 6 speed, amazing. Now if I can sort the rake in the rear and rubbing at rear of the back tires I’d be happy!!

Can you trim the plastic back on the rear bumper? I assume you're talking about the edge of the cap? On my Grands I've had to trim the lowest edge of the bumper plastics back to clear larger tires. Sharp box knife seems to work best. Roto tools get too hot and leave little plastic boogers.

Another option would be to use a heat gun and mold them as you need.

My wife and I were both very torn on this Jeep order between the manual and the diesel. In the end, for the trips we do, we opted diesel for the range, and torque for pulling the boats. First non-Grand Cherokee Jeep I've had without a manual! Feels weird, but happy with the choice.

It’s not the bumper but the plastic inner rear fender crap. I took off the plastic but in the rear there’s metal that sticks out. Sucks. Congrats on the Jeep!

Had a little articulation this afternoon and see the exact spot you're talking about. Just kissed it with the rear passenger tire. I'm thinking it will mean pulling the liner, cutting the seam back a bit, then heat molding the plastic to give me some more space. Had similar rub on my XJ and WJ that was solved with a hammer, but think I'll be a little gentler with the new JL. ;-)

There are some YouTube videos that show where & how to use a heat gun to heat the rear inner fenders and reform them to give you some extra clearance.

Azaky01 you have an epic build. Very similar to what my rig is going to be like. I like that hybrid idea of a rock crawler/over landing rig. I’ve seen a couple others, but they leaned more one way or the other with the concept. Your appears to be more balanced. Which gives me more confidence with the ideas in my head and how I am going to build mine. Let us know how she preforms when you have an opportunity.

Love the build. Have you done any multi-day overland trips yet? Curious how that back shelf and drawer system are working out for you. And the 4.5” lift, how has that worked out for you seeing you’re still running short arms?

Alex, I really love this build and appreciate the thought that went into getting it where it is.

We have almost identical taste and build direction...I'll be borrowing a mod or two. How's the steering on the trail? Any thoughts of upgrading?

I have 35's and took that plastic out. Have not yet rubbed on the metal at all.

Did you get any sort of deal on the KC Hilites? I'm hoping they have a deal for black Friday. Can't decide between those or the Baja LP6s.
