I just did post the data for the Fram. Try finding Mopar's data and then help me understand why it is hard to find.
No sense us talking anymore about this. I called you out on your nonsensical post and that's it.

You defended your post by stating, just now posting what you read at Fram's website. Spare me.. You pointed us to nothing (no 3rd party testing) that would support your claims about Fram, Mopar..
Give link here where people can go and read versus your

Anyway, I'll drive away now. Just hope that those reading this thread realize that lots of crapola gets put out in oil/oil filter related threads.

Again, one should do their own research and make an educated decision/choice.

For a good read, if you want to shake your head, start first reading about Fram and their checkered history.

I hate oil related threads!

I assume the Mopar filter for the new JL is the same that is used in a JK '15 MY? I know before that they were different and they did something with the nipple. Have they changed the filter between the 3.6 Pentestar motor from 15' MY to the new JL?
Yes, you use the same oil filter as in your 2015 JK.

2018 Wrangler 3.6L Pentastar engine

Chrysler/Jeep Oil filter part number is 68191349AA - (MO-349) / / 68191349AB - (MD-349) (new number)

Jeep recommends you use SAE 0W-20 Engine Oil, such as MOPAR, Pennzoil, and
Shell Helix. - 5 quarts oil

24mm oil filter cover removal / When installing cover, torque to no more then 18 Ft/lbs.
13mm socket for drain plug / Torque to 20 Ft/lbs.

It should be the same, a Mopar M349.
OK thanks, I had bought a bunch for a cheaper price but I don't put many miles on the Jeep so I still have 3 or 4 hanging around. :D

Not sure why you got your underwear in a bunch, but here is some data for you. IF the Mopar is a Purolator, which is suggested by its construction, it has 96.5% efficiency at 20 microns, which is pretty good, but not as good as the 99% at 20 microns for the Fram Ultra Guard.

There, I've shown you the facts. The Fram is a better filter, by ISO standardized tests. That's apples to apples, friend. The data for the Purolator came from their website, too. Does that make it bogus? Same ISO test, by the way.

So, in light of you accusing me of just having an opinion, not supported by fact, then me posting actual data from standardized tests, you end with dismissing the data because of your opinion that the data is from Fram's website, making it no good, again, in your opinion. So by reasoning and looking at your statements, we've reached the point where you think your opinion is more valuable. Nice logic there.

You probably made a good decision not to continue talking with me anymore about it. I'd hate to have you try to figure out how to explain why this data is "crapola."

You asked for data, rather than an opinion. I gave it to you. Then, you dismiss it as crapola. Again, probably a good decision not to continue to talk about it.

One more quick thing. Why do I think the Mopar is a Purolator? Because the construction appears to be exactly the same, the filter media looks the same, and they are the only two filters I've seen with the wavy, contorted filter media, which I don't personally like. (Now THAT is an opinion, in case you are confused.)

Guys I started this thread and I believe I said let's not turn this into a debate about oil, that includes filters! I wanted to show the easy oil change and list the steps. I believe it has helped many. Let's not derail this thread. (But just for the record, @DanW knows his shit and if he gives me advice, I'm paying attention!).

Is it 5 quarts or 6?
With the Pentastar 3.6L in the Wrangler JK's it is 6 quarts. With the 2018 Wrangler JL's 3.6L Pentastar engine it is 5 quarts.

In the JL, does the engine oil cooler have a separate drain plug? I see them listed in build sheets that people post, and am wondering how that volume gets drained.

Oil coolers I'm familiar with are thermostatically controlled, so oil needs to be hot for the cooler thermostat to be open and allow the oil to gravity drain. If the 3.6 cooler works that way, at what temp does it open?
