Fair warning if you’ve been on the fence about ordering anything from Bestop…

Good that this price increase on Bestop prices was mentioned again.

Also, think twice before buying a used Bestop Sunrider or even a new one someone has that is still in the box.

Bestop warranties are not transferable.... So, you buy one from someone and have an issue with the Sunrider (say the Z-Clip(s) fail) you are going to be out of luck.... no warranty coverage from Bestop. You are better off/ prudent to just buy the SR from Bestop or a legal reseller.

Careful buying a used Bestop Sunrider. (Probably best to not buy used) Many of the used Bestop Sunrider's you see offered, have a broken z-clip.

When Bestop warranty replaces a Sunrider they do not ask to have the SR returned to Bestop or to see evidence it was destroyed...

SO, guys are getting a replacement SR and then selling the defective/broken SR to unsuspecting buyers.... seller does no tell them the z-clip is broken. Broken z-clip causes puckering of fabric, increased wind noise, etc..

Yes, z-clip can be repaired but even Bestop does not take on that deed..

I assume that’s a big issue because that “z-clip” isn’t easily repairable/replaceable?

That z-clip is a mother-. Worst part of the install process, or my dexterity just isn't what it used to be.

Anyone know what the current backorder timing is for the Trektop Ultra Slantback top? I attempted to chat on the Bestop website to no avail. "Sorry, no agents are online". I guess they all went to lunch

I was seriously thinking of just buying a Sunrider from a Facebook group for half the price as a new one. But since you mention this, I guess buying new is the way to go. Thanks for the info, I would've never known otherwise.

I have the sunrider for hardtop, and if you do like me and leave it all assembled together for storage after initial installation, I don’t see how the Z clips can fail.

However, if one completely disassembles it and keep twisting the z clips in and out of position at every storage/installation, you are definitely looking for trouble, as they are pretty flimsy.

It could be argued that Bestop owes the Wrangler community a discount, not a price increase, after their 12+ month tease regarding Core doors that aren't going to happen.

They raised the hell out of prices for the jl anyway from the start. I think you'll see a bigger push from other top makers. It's def not a secret your paying the brand name tax from them.

And anything related to the 2 door. This is what happens when a company buys up the " little guy" competition, and with no competition, charges more for less.

Eventually demand will start to decrease and all these companies that are raising prices will be having blowout sales to keep volume up....this is my prediction anyways.

The website says "Save $50 on a Sunrider", but there is no discount code and it shows up full price in checkout... Any ideas short of me contacting them?
