Stopped by the local dealer and took a close look at the OEM Warn winch. It is definitely smaller than the Warn supplied Zeon by 2.25" to 2.5" in length. The end caps are the same size, it is the center section of the winch that is shorter in length. I am sure this was done for clearance between the frame rail horns as well as weight savings...Let's hope the only downside turns out to be the 90' of rope vs 100' on the standard Zeon. As many of us already know, when mounting the Warn Zeon winch on our JL's it is often necessary to slightly trim the inside top of the frame horns (mounting surface for bumper) depending on type of mount and or bumper used. I was surprised to see the factory winch is mounted with the front tilted in a noticeably downward position, note the position of the Warn logo on my Zeon 10-S in the first picture below and the same Warn logo in the second picture...

Evo kind of looks like a zeon, but is narrower by about 3 inches. On a sort of different topic, I started spooling only 50-75 feet of rope. I carry another 100ft of rope and 40 feet in various snatch bands. Never used a 100ft, never used 50 feet come to think about it.

I just put a warn zeon 10s on my 24 rubicon using mopar winch plate and mopar bumper. I did not have to trim anything.

I’m changing the fairlead to a black, should arrive tomorrow.

I mounted zeon 10-s on 2024 using Grimm plate. Had to grind to fit.

That is about the amount I needed to trim when I mounted a Zeon 10-S on my '20 Ruby using a Warn Elite bumper.

Did you by chance take any pictures showing how the winch fits in the Mopar mounting plate? Only thing I can think of is with the Mopar winch plate the winch sits fully behind the frame horns the bumper mounts to.

I am considering ordering a 2024 and I have a 2023 392 and I mounted a Warn 10S Platinum and I also used the Grimm Offroad mounting plate and I had to grind about that much off.

If I get a 2024, I don't know whether to order one with the factory winch, OR remove my 10S Platinum and try a different mounting plate and roll on.

I didn't take any pictures when I did my installs, but I used the Warn Winch Mount and a Zeon 12-S winch and didn't have to cut anything on the 2019 Rubicon or 2023 392 I had. I'll see if the 2024 392 is the same when it gets built and delivered.

I tried to order my JLRX with the factory Warn but Jeep will not (at this time at least) allow you to order a 2-door X with 2.0 and 8speed auto with a winch but you can order a 4-door X with 2.0, 8 speed auto and winch...WTH Jeep?

I know the guy who designed this winch, I will ask him what the differences are.

Warn is not talking and referring inquiries to Jeep...Jeep says they don't know.

Yall actually believe Jeep is paying for a Zeon? ?

It looks like a Zeon...The end caps are the same shape and size, the center section with the drum looks the the same but is 2.5 inches shorter and holds 90 feet of rope instead of the standard Zeon's 100 feet of rope. Pretty sure it is not a VR series.

The factory supplied winch is 8K > does that make a difference?
