Stopped by the local dealer and took a close look at the OEM Warn winch. It is definitely smaller than the Warn supplied Zeon by 2.25" to 2.5" in length. The end caps are the same size, it is the center section of the winch that is shorter in length. I am sure this was done for clearance between the frame rail horns as well as weight savings...Let's hope the only downside turns out to be the 90' of rope vs 100' on the standard Zeon. As many of us already know, when mounting the Warn Zeon winch on our JL's it is often necessary to slightly trim the inside top of the frame horns (mounting surface for bumper) depending on type of mount and or bumper used. I was surprised to see the factory winch is mounted with the front tilted in a noticeably downward position, note the position of the Warn logo on my Zeon 10-S in the first picture below and the same Warn logo in the second picture...
