I would even stretch it to 72, still had front and rear bumpers. When they lost the bumper in 73 they lost me too.
Actually I would too, the smog check cut off here is 75 so the gutless smog motors could be replaced. 😁 When I met my wife she had a Big Bootie (78?) POS, my 6cyl 54 likely had better power-weight.

When I moved back to CA from WA I had to get 18 months worth of temporary registrations so that my 74 Camaro would fall under the exempt category. I know the feeling. Currently working on a 73 Nova because 68-72 was too expensive and 75 was ugly and smoggy lol

I bought a rare 66 (only)Nova with the SS L-79, close ratio Muncie, Posi, package. New Mexico car in 71-2 and even back then I had to put a “Nox Device” on it and have it inspected to register it.
somebody else knew what it was- it was Stolen, the drivetrain and buckets stripped. Then they shit on it bashing in the LR quarter panel and rear end.:swear::mad::angry:

On one hand, I like my Jeep just fine the way it is! I wouldn't change anything about it.

OTOH: If I had infinite money I might swap it for a 392. LOL.

@Camaroboi13 - I noticed a for sale sign on a kinda ragged BB 69 at our LA facility, but it was dirt cheap so I took a look. Yep- needed a paint job, and the interior was shot too. Then I spotted the L-89 badge by the shifter. OMG- he doesn’t know what he has. I ran in and got the keys, ran back and started it… blub blub blub WTF, I opened the hood and couldn’t believe it, ain’t no L-89. When asked “the motor was wore out and the garage gave me a good deal on one out of a station wagon they had” 😱 he posed for the Statue Of A Fool 😳

My god that would be the dream, but the 5.9 is the biggest that can possibly fit, and even that takes some serious mods to make it work.
Have Faith! 🤣

If they can make the LS fit in a Civic, I'm sure someone will find a way to shove a 6.7 in there.

I’d keep my current Jeep because it is exactly what I wanted, but I would buy an ocean blue JLR with a 392 Swap, 3” lift, and 37”s.

My thought process:
Ocean blue is my second favorite color on a Jeep.
I can join the “real” Jeep community with a two door😜.
392 in a two door would be awesome!

I got one for ya, I'd take a 24 JLUR (mine's a 23) the full float rear axel and Uconnect 5 would be nice.

Here's where it gets tough, I'd love a 3/4 scale version of the Gen 3, 5.9L Cummins I think 4.4l sounds good for a baby Cummins. Oh and a 6 speed manual, but I get to decide the ratios.

My current 392 AEV JL370, but with the addition of 74Weld Portals, JK width Dynatrac ultimate 44 up front and a matching 60 in the rear, along with an Atlas T-Case and 40” tires.
Once the warranty is done, this is how she’ll sit.

This is probably going to be the least popular answer:

I'd wipe out all of the electronics in my current Wrangler, drop the engine put in a Cummins 5.9, redo all the wiring... Beyond that probably just keep doing what I'm doing.

Rich or not, I'm still a gonna be a cheapskate!

That would allow me to put money towards other things I want to do, like a lifted off-road mini cooper, the second gen Corvette stingray I want to drop turn into a four-wheel drive off-road demon, take a Kia soul and use it for target practice, buy a Mercedes-Benz W461 and turn it into a monster truck and actually off-road with it!! Get the greatest worst vehicle ever, a Geo and transition it to run on fryer oil, and paint it gold leaf, that way I can be blazing down the street looking rich as **** leaving a trail of french fries scents while getting 42 MPGs!!!

You should all be afraid if I ever get rich. The last thing we all need is me having the funds to do all the stupid shit I want to do.
I assume it's on the YouTube somewhere but someone built a JKUR with a Cummins, it was called Project Rattletrap if memory serves. Personally I's be happy with a 3/4 scale version of the gen 3, 5.9.

Basically a whole new engine/transmission combo, probably get a 5.7 and beef up the rear 44, maybe a new full float from 2024+with chromoly shafts, dynatrac up front, and a new computer that disables all the nanny controls and remote disablement features with a moderate tune.

Yep, that's how I know a 5.9 will fit inside of a JL. JK engine bay is only a couple inches shorter than ours lengthwise, so if they can fit one in there with only a little bit of extra work, we can definitely fit one in ours! 😍

Though I will say I'm pretty sure that guy purposely did a tune that just dumps out crap tons of soot, otherwise he needs to get a new tuner because even that engine shouldn't be dumping out that much soot.

By the time I get around to putting a 5.9 in my Wrangler, hopefully people will have a hard time identifying what model year mine is. I feel like the last thing I need to do is mutilate the headlights and then figure out how to get some JK door handles on my JL, and then I should be set.

If you confuse people and make them think your Jeep is at least 25 years old then they won't question the fact that it doesn't have any emissions equipment on it. ;)

Either that or I could move to Montana where the closest person who gives a darn lives 600 mi away. :CWL:

Yeah that thing is an absolute beast. Agreed on the soot, I subscribe to the old Banks ideology, if you're blowin smoke you're wastin fuel. Plus me weiner works just fine and I don't have a chip on by shoulder, haha. To be fair it is a gen 1, 12 valve so it is a little tougher to produce that kind of power without a little smoke but that much is just for show.

I will also say it was a struggle when I ordered mine to not get the diesel but my #1 priority was a manual so I didn't have a choice.

Good luck, I'd love to see a silver C on the side of a Wrangler!
