So we agreed now to order a new Jeep Willy’s (I have the high volume list, thanks!). We know we will get the heated seat package. I guess we have to do the 3.6 as 2.0 not available right now. We are still struggling with the color (white, anvil or high velocity). It will be my daily driver.

Now my husband found the tire package but it’s nearly 5k! Is it really worth it and so much better looking? We won’t do any off road- it would really just for be for optics.

It does have a better looking stance, plus its already lifted, so you wouldnt have to worry about anything that in the future. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

If this helps between color and XR package, this is my wife's High Velocity Jeep that has the XR Package. Her's is a High Tide but the Willys would look the same. Our Jeeps are daily drivers also and we have no issues as they are.

I"ve owned a Rubicon X for a week now that has the XR package.

I loved how it looked in photos, but only rarely saw them on the roads around Phoenix. It wasn't until I had my own that I had a chance to really walk around and appreciate how good they look in person. I do plan to take mine off road, but no judgement.

If you are placing an order, you may want to consider having the step-assist rock rails added to it. My wife is 5'5" and not a ton of upper body strength. Having the step come from the factory was a huge win for us. She recently commented she isn't sure she'd be able to get in it without the step.

Anvil is a great color had it on my 75th anniversary power wagon. If it would have been available when I got my willys I would have picked it.

Mine started as an XR but I traded the wheels for the Mopar beadlocks (original XR colors?) With 37s.

That looks great. I have the same one with a Black Roof.

I want the silver rings, but I can't find them anywhere. I've considered polishing the stock ones.

Yea when I built it it wasn't that much more to get the sun and sound package over the hardtop and upgraded stereo so I felt it was a no brainier.

Little did I know the toddler has really sensitive ears and doesn't like the sky one touch open. Otherwise I would have gone with a slantback soft top

If you are buying a Jeep to take it off road and planned 35s as your tire size end goal, the XR package is a no brainer for what you get. If you are getting a Jeep as an SUV and only plan to hit dirt road or camping, it is not worth it. In the long run it will be less mpg and more repairs. But for off road, it has everything you need to hit some serious trails.

Extreme Recon package is supposed to be for off-road. I didn’t get everything that was supposed to be on the package. You can get a lift kit and tires for less than they are charging. If you are not going to off-road it, why pay the cost?

Yes.

FWIW, I put a very nice 2.5" lift and 35s on my Sahara for less than the XR package (lift, shocks, steering stabilizer, wheels, tires, labor, tax).

Weirdly enough my XR rubicon gets the same mileage as my non XR did..I think the gearing must help a bit. Neither is very good tho, but that’s not why I bought a Jeep

You get different axles, brakes, steel knuckles, tailgate re-inforcement, and different gears too. You can't get everything under 5k. Nowhere near.

It's not just wheels and a lift.
