The xr track bars are the same as a non-xr. In my opinion it still needs longer lower control arms to track properly. The front bump stop clearance isn't enough for driving even moderately quickly off road and bottoms out all the time, so at minimum I'd add a 1" coil spacer up front. The shocks are too short and limit wheel travel (a problem across all JL models). Trading in to get 35s on your JL still leaves you needing another $1k to get it to really work properly. The beadlock rings cost almost as much as beadlock wheels and are never in stock so the beadlock "capable" wheels add little real value and no performance. The front brakes are standard Rubicon and the rears are only slightly larger. If you're in the market for a new Jeep, the xr package is worth the money. If you already own one building is not only far cheaper but you end up with a much better package. I felt like the 4.56 gears were too low for 35s on the freeway and would rather have 4.10s with 35s personally. You could buy a high quality 2.5" lift that addresses caster properly and has much better shocks for under$3k. Add wheels of your choice and 35s that are better than the KO2s for another $3500. Sure if you feel the need for deep gears you'll be in it for another $2500 but even then you'd have a Jeep that way outperforms the stock xr on and off road and save a bunch of money in the process.
I agree with most of what you said. But having gone from a standard Rubicon to an XR, the 4.56 gears are ideal. Especially with 35's. And I don't know specifics on the brakes, but there is a better booster or something because the difference is night and day.

The gears are hardly enough of a gain to justify buying a new jeep though, spend the $2500 on a regear and lift your current rig far better than the factory xr "lift" and save a pile of cash. The xr package is worth the money if you're buying a new jeep anyway but it's definitely not worth trading one in, paying taxes again, etc for what you get. The only reason we upgraded from a Rubicon to the 2022xr was our 2019 was stolen. Having owned, wheeled, and modified both the xr has almost all the same shortcomings as the standard Rubicon. KO2s are garbage off road wether they are 33s or 35s.

It pays to shop around. We wanted more room and went from a 2 door Rubicon to a 4 door XR (High Tide). My trade was 2 years older and higher miles but I still got 75% of the difference. It was an easy decision in this case.

2024 rubicon xr only suspension mods 1 inch spacer in the front and 1/2 inch in the back. Seems to flex just fine and did not hit the bump stops like everyone complains about

The 1" spacer definitely helps with the up travel and not hitting the bump stops all the time, but the shocks still only have 7.13" of travel up front. Adding the spacer only shifts the limited travel from pretty close to centered to 4.63" of up travel and just 2.5" of downtravel from ride height. It's enough that it works, but they are still limiting the suspension unnecessarily. With as long as the factory bump stops are you can easily fit aftermarket shocks made for 1-3" of lift and in general those will have close to a 10" stroke with a similar compressed length as the factory shocks. Why you wouldn't increase downtravel by 30% for well under $1k by a simple shock upgrade is beyond me. Why jeep extended the compressed length on the xr shocks but kept the same short stroke makes no sense. Yes it works, but you already took 1 step towards improving the factory shortcomings, why not take the next 1?

Rubicon XR
hi everyone hope you are all doing great! super excited to be back in a wrangler ...we recently picked up a 2024 rubicon with the xr package and i am pretty happy with the overall ride quality of the jeep. My goal is to make it ride better and have some adjustability in the shocks and keep the factory stance....i have ordered a set of fox bump stops to address the long bumpstop extensions on the factory xr...with that in mind, i would like to run the fox 2.5 dsc shocks....is this the correct set up to go with:

front shocks fox 2.5 dsc for 2-3" lift. part number 883-26-050
compressed 16.34" extended 26.51

rear shocks fox 2.5 dsc for 2-3" lift part number 883-26-054
compressed 17.43" extended 28.60"

i also plan to stick with the factory 315/70r17 ko2 for now until they wear out

thank you so much for all your help!
