I recently got my first pair of hearing aids (Rx and professionally tuned by a doctor), and was curious how they would change the audible Wrangler experience in my 2021 2.0L. Here are my subjective observations:

1. My 2.0L engine is STILL quiet, cold or hot, inside and outside the Jeep.

2. Tire noise (35” Toyo RT Pros) are excruciatingly loud at highway speeds, in spite of the low mileage on them.

3. My stock radio is now much louder, and sounds even better. I can hear the mid- and high-range now, causing me to change the equalizer settings.

4. It is impossible to pretend I cannot hear my wife bitching about my driving. I can hear the mid- and high-range now, she doesn’t sound “better,” and she doesn’t have an equalizer control.

5. Her 2020 3.6L is also just as quiet, and its AT tires are now also quite loud, and she bitches about my driving in that, too.

Other than road noise and not being able to ignore your wife, they sound compatible.
Brian, they definitely are; sometimes I can’t post without being a smartass.

If you have just got them it is going to take time to adapt to the aids. You sill still have to fine tune them...usually best done by a professional.

Ramandeep, yes sir! I’ve had them for a few weeks; so far, so good.

Jeff,

everyone's circumstances/situations/experiences are different. That being said, it's not always a good idea to "upgrade" OEM parts to aftermarket stuff, what with the Law Of Un-Intended Consequences :CWL::LOL:;).

I will say that I remove mine when going topless at times due to the wind noise.
Are you sure it’s not cat calls instead of wind noise? 😉😂

You must be pretty young if it’s your first pair. As I remember (losing this, too) it, the first indication was that I couldn’t hear my boss, next I couldn’t hear my wife, then my son.

My comment about hearing aids it that they are very good at amplifying noise. With the windows open, the radio on there’s no way I can hear anyone speaking.

For items 4/5: The term is called “selective hearing” and there is no cure for it.

There have been great strides in improving directionality and hearing in noise. You can now have a setting where you can hear what is in front of you and it cuts out noise from the side or behind you. For example, sitting at a table in a restaurant. Point your nose at what you want to hear…
