Dumb question, but does the Gladiator ride better than a JLU or does it have the same steering issues as the JLU? We don't take my wife's JLU Sahara on longer trips because I hate driving it on the highway, I feel like I'm constantly trying to keep it in the lane. Don't get me wrong, I love her Jeep, it's fun, but it's not for me on long trips. Wondering how the Gladiator compares.
The JLU does not have steering issues. Your JLU has a steering issue which is easily corrected.

I told a Jeep salesman one time they looked like some redneck from around here lopped off the assend of a JL and welded on a tiny truck bed from a shortbed Chevy. He laughed really hard.

There are always more of them on the local lots than JLs. Usually 5 or 6 to 1.

There are a few on the streets here. The predominant driver demographic is male, retirement+ age. Lots of time to always have them showroom spotless and time to shine up the tonneau cover, which 100% of them seem to have, maybe they are standard, dunno, don't care.

I have yet to see one around here with the doors off, do they even come off?

Guessing its probably a "safety" consideration amongst the local predominantly elder owners.

Go check the Gladiator forum. Lots of nude JT’s. Of course it’s appealing to rednecks! It’s a truck and a Jeep! I live in a small town in south Texas, population 2.5k there are no less than 10 gladiator owners and everyone of them has a big ole grin when I pass them. Might not be the right thing for everyone, but for those that it suits it’s purpose for we are extremely grateful and excited to have this platform.

People with a two door say the four doors too long people with a four-door say the gladiators too long. People with a Gladiator say the four-door is too short people with a four-door say the two doors too short.
And then some people just hate everything! Lol!

Bring back the ole Scramblers! Gladiators have their own followers for sure and great….tomatoes/tomaatoes. Have many friends who have JT’s and they love them and the fact they are customizable for ones self just like a JL. But for the use for a sure blown truck duties I’d be looking at the real McCoy’s. Now if Jeep brought back a Scrambler with a proven Hurricane I-6 I’d loving depart with my JLUR.

Don't take my post the wrong way. It's just my opinion combined with some comedy.

I'm glad it works for you.

It reminds me of my feelings on the Gremlin. It was one fuglyass car, but now I'd like to have one. Maybe one day I'll buy a Gladiator. ?

On a serious note tho, I really haven't saw one with the doors off around here.

And the Gremlin is still fugly AF. But I think that’s the appeal. The fact that some survived and are in pristine condition. Now when’s the last time you saw a Renault LeCar?

But okay I gotta admit being an ole school Jeep guy when I first saw a 4 door JK. I was like WTF (whiskey tango foxtrot) lol. Never owned any JK models but waited until the JLs hit the market and I drove a 2 door as thats what I was used to being a CJ guy and yes had a blast. Now if I didn’t carry a bunch of camping gear and crap as I do alot of alone Offroad I would have gone with a JL. So I drove a JLUR and yup sold me on all the extra room I needed plus I could make the break over angle just as good with what needed.

Is it just around here or is this happening a lot? Around here dealers will have many Gladiator’s for every Wrangler on the lot (new). I’m not talking ā€œcloseā€, I’m seeing 6, 8, 10 Gladiators for every single JLU, (not to mention multiple JLU’s per JL?). What’s the deal I wonder. Are Glad’s selling that well (or are they NOT selling)? Back BC (before Covid) dealers stocked what they thought they could sell. Now, who knows? Maybe they’re stocking Glad’s ā€˜cause they can’t get the JL’s? Anybody know?
It seems to me as a owner of both and a dealer they both have there place but on the resale side Jt's compared apples to apples on the market report and on the lot a used Gladiator holds its value better loaded up Jt's or Rubicon Jt's still bring over sticker at the big sales. My local Jeep dealer in Cheyenne usually has pretty even numbers and sells pretty close to the same amount.
