Local here quoted about $1000 for Gorilla Glass with the stupid ACC that I've got. This was for Jeep brand glass, said that's all they had for 2025.

I've bought off brand glass here before for much less and they always check for clarity and waviness.

$825 last month for mine from safelite. Not GG but has the adaptive cruise. Windshield is cheap but they screw you on “recalibrating” the ACC. 3 years, 3 windshields…
Glass + calibration + integrated antenna = arm + leg
Prices vary, calibration is a scam and unnecessary on Wranglers...don't pay for it!
My understanding, after replacing my windshield every year since 2021 (I'm on my 4th one) is that the recalibrating crap is a scam. Normal vehicles need the recalibration because the camera/equipment is attached to the windshield, whereas the wrangler is not attached because the windshield is made to fold down. Therefore, there's nothing to recalibrate as nothing changed, just a new piece of glass. My local glass shop tries to ding me every time, until I remind them that it's a wrangler. I've been paying around $375 out the door.

$800 for a non-gorilla glass windshield??
I have advanced safety. There’s a small grid for the laser in the top of the windshield and they have to calibrate the laser as well.

Sounds like a bad feature to have on a vehicle that goes through windshields like changing underwear.

Driving into the early morning sun, my 3 year old windshield looks like it’s been sandblasted. Online quote from Safelite for out of pocket replacement is $500 give or take depending on whether it’s OEM glass or not.

Long time ago Safelite was good and came out second time no extra charge to reseal Toyota glass, but their prices are ridiculous anymore, haven't used them in years.

I thought I was paying a lot for windshield. They usually cost me between $325-$350 off-brand, ceramic tint.

It is a scam but for liability reasons many glass companies will not replace the glass without doing it. I found one that would waive it but only after I signed something to release them from liability.

I have the same features and haven't done it yet, and they all work fine...... (knock on wood)

Is it the same cost to have the windshield ceramic coated before it's installed or after? Can you tell them that you want a ceramic coating on an OEM GG windshield?

I had the last two Jeeps windshields ceramic coated and I could tell a difference. I'm not sure it's enough of a difference for the price.

@YGBSM392 What was the difference you could tell?
My Jeeps came with privacy glass on the sides and rear like most do. Privacy glass does not necessarily have a heat blocking ability. I had a high grade tint installed all around and a clear ceramic tint. The sides and back provide up to 62% solar heat reduction, up to 88% IR heat reduction, and >99% UV ray reduction. The front glass provide slightly less. My biggest anecdotal impression is that skin exposed to direct sunlight doesn't feel as hot. The Jeep is slightly cooler when sitting in the sun for a time. This can be further aided by a sun screen. As far as the value, that's a personal choice. At around $1,000 I would do it for intended long term Jeeps to better maintain the interior and for windows up roadtrip Jeeps.

I'm not 100% sure if there is a cost difference in tinting on vs off, I've never had one tinted afterwards. I know there are some legal issues on tinting the windshield so maybe the person applying the tint has some plausible deniability in tinting prior to the install?

I'm in AZ so it's a necessity to not fry the dashboard and steering wheel.
