Windshield cracked. Safelite?

A truck threw a rock at me on the highway. Windshield cracked . Geico told me they put me in for a replacement. Should I expect less than factory quality on the job ? I'm nervous as heck.

I've had Safelite work on a couple windshields for me (granted not Jeeps), but I've always been impressed with the work.

Seeing all these cracked windshields, I need to make sure I have glass coverage when my JL arrives.

I have a nasty crack too! I'm going through the place the dealership uses and they say they can only order an OEM replacement and it comes from back east! I hope it'll still have Easter eggs!

They got me too! I only have 400miles on my Jeep and it’s barely 2 weeks old. I called dealer and they said it’s still under warranty. I have appt for tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

Check the windshield label...is it 'acoustic' glass? If you have the premium sound system, it should be.

They got me too! I only have 400miles on my Jeep and it’s barely 2 weeks old. I called dealer and they said it’s still under warranty. I have appt for tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!

Your crack looks almost identical to the one I got a week ago. It really didn’t sound like a huge rock but the crack is about 8” long.

Have you replaced your windshield already? I’m gettint mixed answers when I call the dealer for a new windshield. The first dealer told me “sometime in June” and today another dealer told me a week.

I contacted my insurance agent and it will be covered by them. I plan to call a couple of the local glass replacement companies today to check on lead time. I’ll update everyone once I have a commitment.

I replaced mine today, had the jeep just over 2 months.... little noise when I was on the highway... next thing I know I had a crack over 6 inches!

I spoke with the guy that was sent from the insurance to replace it today and he said he has another 5 in the area to replace... and know I just found this tread.... very concerning.

Mine got replaced within 2 weeks of calling the insurance, original from the dealership. Still very concerned it got a crack that easy and so fast (nothing on the windshield when I got to my Dauther a softball practice and 6+ when I came out in just about 1hr) Safelite said it they could not repair something like that....

This happened to me today....700 miles. I will be going they the dealership to make sure it is Mopar glass.

We had safelite come out and repair our Cherokee's windshield. It was replaced with an OEM windshield and they were able to update/reset the sensors. No issues after 5 months of use....

My insurance company, Safety Insurance, connected me with JN Phillips, who are well known in the Boston area. I spoke with JN Philips and they have my VIN number which should assure I get the correct windshield. So far everyone has been very professional. If something goes wrong, I’ll update everyone.

I got a call from JeepCares, Nicholas, about my windshield. He asked me about the process at the dealership regarding this and he said he would assist me in this matter. A couple minutes after we hung up on the phone, I got a call from the dealership, with an order number and eta of the new windshield for 5/24/18. This was way better then “around June” the dealer had told me originally. The dealership also brought up the wind factor and will “diagnose” it at the same time I get my new windshield installed.

That is exactly where my crack is. Under 200 miles less than a week old... Idiot crossed into the emergency lane and threw a rock.. Of course he was on his phone as he swerved in and out of the emergency lane. My car has taken harder hits and only caused a slight chip.. Jeep glass must be very thin.
