I have been looking at options to remote mount the solenoids for a Smittybilt gen 3 XRC under the hood and have not seen any posts doing this so far. This should be the same for most winches that have the option to mount solenoids not attached to the winch. There is very little room to run the wires from the standard location on top of the winch to the terminals on the back of the winch. which also requires you to run these 4 or 5 wires in a visible route or possibly cut a hole in the grill, which would make future maintenance accessibility cumbersome. Additionally I would like to see any battery terminal installations that offer multiple connections and install conveniently.
Update: I opted to move the winch forward by slotting the winch plate, shortening the wires and mounting the solenoid pack in the offset option on the winch. This gave me the ability to access the spool and minimize the potential for the cable to interact with the wiring, while maintaining a clean looking installation. The power and ground wires were ran to the battery location in a common sleeve. I am still resolving how to connect to the battery where future connections will also be achievable.
I added a few pictures of how I decided to wire. Used a small fuse block to allow me to quickly add circuits in the future. I ran a common wire sleeve to the front of the vehicle for the power wires to the winch and also the switch wires for the light bar I installed on the front of the jeep.
