I used the Stinger 500 amp solenoid
First attempt in my 392, just used a small piece of angle iron. It looks ok and does the job.

I use the solenoid to cut power to my winch and air compressor in both Jeeps and it’s activated by aux 2. I used the same solenoid in my JK that controls two winches and air compressor

I am sure there are lots of reasons everyone did their setup they way they did it. I am not a fan of a large unfused circuit waiting to get shorted in an accident. For the type of offroading i do here in michigan, I will risk a solenoid or switch not engaging over a short. I will check on the warn kit linked in 1st post.
I used the warn power interrupt kit and one of the aux switches and I’m happy with it.

There was a video floating around somewhere—it was of guys on a trail and their winch spool in solenoid got stuck on. It was muddy.
They had no way to turn the winch off as it was retracting the line. Damaged their bumper, winch, and whatever was attached the the line. Lots of smoke and there was risk of a fire.
Not a risk worth taking. Lots of amps running through those lines under load. If something stuck it’s game over.

Interrupt switch is the way to go.

I used some slotted angle iron I had on hand. Then painted it and used the existing Jeep bolts to mount it.
One solenoid is from Warn for the winch, the other is for a 50amp Anderson plug I ran to the rear cargo area for an air compressor. Both are wired to aux switches.
