A couple of things- #1 the brackets are pretty high up I think they could be lowered with some custom brackets. #2 I talked to the guys at extend my seat and they said they will be working on new brackets for the JL next week. I will update when they are available.
has "next week" passed yet? Interested n those brackets! I don't want to bang my head against the roll bar in the event of an accident.... I also can't see the speed I'm driving at once I go pass 45 until I reach 90 mph, lol.

Yea, the strap on the left doesn't bug me as much, but it is kind of annoying not being able to see how fast I'm going unless I duck my head down a little.

6 foot 6, lost 60 lbs to be the 340lbs that i am today. have a 4 door Sahara in Punkin with heritage tan cloth. Its not a perfect fit, but it is comfortable. Same for me, top of speedometer / screen is obscured, head is a little to high with seat set back and reclined without shoulder being wedged against the bar, but its ok. have to duck down to see traffic lights if I'm the first couple cars haha.

I checked to see if i could modify the seat brackets to be lower, like in the JK, but bad news, it seems there is NO support closest to the middle, is actually bolted straight to the floor, and that area is curving around the drive train means there's not room to lower it. shame.

I know right. How hard can it be to make a freaking bracket?

Lmao.. not by a long shot. I am quite slender but being 6'8" you have to be a certain size unless you want to look like a stick.

At the place where I place the seat to comfortably reach the pedals I find there is quite a lot of leg room beyond the pedals for me. Which makes me wonder, as taller people are concerned, are the ones where height is more a function of their leg than torso length more comfortable, especially given that the seat to top of interior rig clearance is kind of short?
I'm done after 8 days of ownership...

For me (6'2" and heavy) my left leg has plenty of space when stretched out. The cables for electronics to the door rubs on my leg and is annoying. I cannot bend my left leg though. The gas peddle is away several inches forward of where my left foot goes and is right up against the hump causing me to rotate my right foot a lot to press the gas peddle. Stop and go traffic is brutal on my feet.

The seat is too short and has a firm bolstered seat bottom pressing firmly into my thigh causing pain, discomfort, and numbness in a short time

Moving up now to my torso, my head touches the sound roll bar when I lean back. I'm toast in a wreck. I feel like I need the seat back further and it feels too high. Of course if the seat is back futher then my shoulder will have less room because the pillar.

I basically rented a Wrangler for a week for $9,500 and put 400 miles on it. I am trading it in for anything bigger. I will test drive Ram 1500s and Grand Cherokee's.

I wish I had taken time to sort out all the details, but I drove an hour and a half away and caused myself to be pressured.

Wish me luck in finding a replacement and adios Wrangler folks. This is one of the only times I wish I was shorter. I will miss a couple features and didn't even get a chance to try it off road.

So depressing and discouraging. Luckily, I'll recover eventually and I am happy to be done with GM.

Sorry it did not work out. I think it is ridiculous that the Jeep Wrangler is so large, yet so many big guys feel cramped or will die. The designers had so much real estate to work with, but failed to do their research. Americans are getting taller and bigger. Mopar must offer some aftermarket seat brackets to address these short comings for big people.

I think the biggest hit to the JL interior was that it lost 1.7 inches in hip room and .2 inches in shoulder room. Even though the outside grew, the inside (driver 's area) shrunk. I backed out of buying one on Saturday. I never felt cramped in my 3 JKs and still on the fence about dropping that much dough on a JL if I can't live with the smaller interior.
